I guess years of hanging at TNL have made me a bitter little bitch, I dont know.

I actually agree with Meach that the first one was entertaining, and not terrible, just not what it could and should have been.The set-up was good, the ancient Predator High School (lol, good one Dole) idea was a good one I thought (they come here for sport, why not learn too?), and some of the battles between the two species, and even the final one with the queen were fun to watch. It was all of the rest of the stuff inbetween that was rushed and/or not done well at all. And I know for a fact that me having any positive thoughts towards AvP1 is defintely against the grain in this neck of the internet (if not all of it).

She was right though. It was good.A lot more time went into that than a forest near a suburb or a near future crime riddled city (Pred 2).The jungle thing worked for Pred 1 because it was in the middle of a foreign/hostile environment.
The only thing that might be cool about this one is that the Aliens can just roam free and fuck everything up at once. (towns,cities ,neighborhoods,etc.) Unfortunately, I still dont think the budget for this one will give us an army of aliens swarming over a town,like Im wanting to see, it will probably be more like 3 or 4 :/

The pyramid idea was lifted from an early draft of Alien and plopped down in the middle of the AvP comic plot. I wouldn't give it too many originality points.

Yeah, they kill one in the trailer apparently. Not spoiling that it's in there, they had the thing at the end of the last one.

Yep, I'm glad they didn't just gloss over it so we might be seeing some nice continuity nods even though the first one was kind of lame.

That trailer pretty much spoiled everything about the movie. From what I hear there's only one Predator in the film, and from that pic he obviously gets killed.

From the little we can see, its dreadlock-y things look like little alien tails. Kinda cool.

I was kind of afraid of that, but I'm still hoping there's at least a little more to the movie than... y'know, all the good deaths we saw.

I didn't even notice the dreadlock things, good eye Grave.

The Kelly O'Brien character seems like she'll play the obvious Ripley role (she even looks a bit like her in some shots), then the city gets bombed Resident Evil style and she and a kid survives taking elements from Aliens. The main lead dude seems like he's gonna get killed off since they like to keep the female leads alive for some reason.

I'm actually bummed out that there's only going to be one predator left, that's like already delving into the territory the first movie had but maybe this Predator will be the most badass of them all.

Man, I'm excited about this movie.

Personally, I’m glad they went back to the same design for the Predator that they used in Predator 1&2. I hated Anderson's take on them in AvP. He just exaggerated everyting way too much- made them too tall, too bulky, too much armor, even their wristblades were 6 feet long.

I alos like that they're using the ridge-headed Alien design and sound effects from Jim Cameron's Aliens.
