Looks really nice. Are they going to have XBL support this time?
I concur with Schlep... looks good. I'd love to play this series over XB Live as well.
I hope single player (co-op specifically) is a bit more fleshed out than TimeSplitters 2. The first stage from the demo (the dam) was easily the best of the bunch, which was disappointing... still was a blast though.
Time Splitters 2 was fun.
I'd pick this up for $20, not much more though.
There are three major flaws in the TimeSplitters series that need to be fixed:
1) The aiming sensitivity was absolutely horrible in TS2. Maybe I'm just spoiled by modern PC FPS, but I should be able to quickly move my aiming reticule around with ease.
2) Secondly, the enemies' reaction to bullets was gallingly robotic. The best part of console FPS like Goldeneye and Perfect Dark is shooting someone and sadistically laughing as they clutch their wound, double over in pain, spaz out, etc.
3) Finally, Games that don't have blood to get around the Mature rating infuriate me. Game developers should already know that Goldeneye has proved that it’s possible to have blood and maintain the Teen rating, so that is not a viable excuse. When I shoot a bad guy point blank in the chest I want him to react and bleed like he was actually shot, as opposed to the overwhelming glut of FPS where enemies continue firing and running without even flinching.
If none of the above is implemented, than I will continue to spend my FPS money on other, superior products.
Future Perfect? I wonder if they'll have some VNV Nation tunes in there. Looks hot.
I loved TS2 so ill be looking forward to this one
I agree with everything you said. Any FPS where I have to put on auto-aim just to be able to hit the broad side of a barn because the aiming sensitivity is completely out of whack isn't worth a nickle to me, especially when you have games like Doom 3 and Half-life 2 on the horizon.Quote:

Getting used to the controls was indeed very difficult, but I eventually got used to them and beat the game. It's just a different style of FPS, and I dont think its a bad thing, just different. I know Im going to be told how utterly wrong I am, but meh. And I liked the style. It wasnt very artistic or even good, but I thought it fit the goofyness of the game. Im assuming that this one will be far more serious as indicated by the graphics. I picked up TS2 for 12 dollars and I feel that was money well spent.
Man I'm going to be ALL over this when it comes out. This looks a lot better than I thought it was going to. Love the new style.
I really liked the art style in the first couple of Time Splitters games, I'm a bit sad that this one doesn't have the same flavah as well.Quote:

I'm with Kidnemo, I liked the style from the first two games, and hope this doesn't change the style all that much.
As for the people that didn't like the aiming sensitivity in the game... I didn't find it a problem. You just had to press L2 or R2 or whatever the button was, and you got the Goldeneye style aiming reticule... never had a problem with it. Is it as good as a mouse? Of course not... but for a console game, I think it works fine. It's either that or you do it Halo style and slow down your movement and the game in general to fit the console controls better.
Yea click the link in the first post.Quote:

I don't think the style is drastically different, just a bit more realistic. I wouldn't be surprised if the same artist is doing the character designs again.
I can play Unreal Tournament and Quake 3 on the DC with good aim (and auto-aim off) even though the analogue stick on the controller is the worse one ever for that purpose. But with the xbox controller, which has the best analogue sticks ever, I can't shoot shit accurately in TS2. Note I don't have the same problem with Halo, Unreal Championship, Serious Sam, or Hitman 2. All but the last allow me to adjust that sensitivity if I chose to do so. I'm just asking that TS3 give me the same option. Because if it doesn't, there's no reason for me to play it.Quote:

It looks like the same art direction as the last 2 to me.
More Western levels please. Those were fun.
From magicbox:
"Electronic Arts announced that TimeSplitter: Future Perfect will be heading to all three consoles. The PS2 version will have 16-player online play, while the GameCube and Xbox version will support 2 player cooperative mode and 4 player split-screen deathmatch."
No online play for the xbox version? My chances of buying this game have now entered into the negative range.

Hah hah, game has crosshairs now. Enjoy.
The Timesplitter 3 ads say that it's online for Xbox and PS2. I wish it was online for Gamecube just because I'd like to see anything besides Phantasy Star Online support that damn modem, but I know it won't be. Why the hell are there no online third party GC games again?Quote:

I think most stores kept them behind the counter because the packaging was really weak. Most places keep all that small stuff that is easy to steal out of the hands and, in effect, out of the eyes of the public. PS2 at least had that sturdy packaging and an aggressive advertising compain to launch the online service.Quote:

They say they don't want o focus on a place Nintendo isn't focusing on. It's a dumb explanation for saying we don't want to waste resources on something Nintendo isn't going to pay them for.
They want to mae it cheaply done and rushed to gain cut costs on the game. If nintendo asked them to put a game online on their servers I'm sure any other company would.
My friends and I love TS2, we play it like Xbox geeks play Halo, only it's on GC. And I bought it for like $14 minus 15% new. Too bad this one isn't online for GC, looks like I'll have to buy the PS2 version for cheap for some online giggles.
Don't forget the fact that you can't jump in the TS series. I hear Future Perfect STILL won't let you jump! :curse:Quote:

That would be cool to have more memory in mapmaker, and maybe some outdoor tiles, but I never really had a space problem before.
But I figure that if you can do all that with two blocks of GC memory, three or four blocks could get the job done.
Bah, I had to buy an extra memory card for the sole purpose of holding my TimeSplitters 2 maps
Are you shitting me? What platform are you using?
I'm using PS2. The PS2 version is the worst about the Map Maker mode :(
Really? How much space does it take?
Well let's put it this way - When you have fifteen maps, all of which use 100% of the map maker's capability, you'll need a completely new memory card, otherwise you'd have to delete the memory of other games to make room.
Wow.
Makes me appreciate my 1019 memory card a lot more. I could fit about 509 maps on that thing if I wipe it clean. Not that I need that many, 400 is enough.
Not only that, but the GameCube version lets you make much larger maps before you reach your limit.
You guys got hella screwed.
Sometimes my mapmaker freezes, pretty rare though. I guess that's a fair trade-off.
So has anybody got this yet?
According to IGN, it doesn't come out until March 8th.Quote:

I bought it when it came out and loved it. Great game.
Got mine a while ago, haven't played it too much though. We gotta set up a game sometime.
You picked it up for Xbox, I'm guessing? I loved part 2 of Time Splitters, so I've been tempted by this since it came out.Quote:

I've only played a few online games, but the map maker is better than ever, except the stair situation is a little wierd.
The game is fantastic, but there is insane auto-aim. I used to run around in multiplayer no scoping bitches with the rifle all the time.

I picked up the Cube version when the game first came out since I loved TS2 so much, and I loved TS3 just as much if not more. The mapmaker is greatly improved and multiplayer is better than ever. Overall I think TS2 had SLIGHTLY better single player missions but other than that TS3 is the better game.
I need to learn to stop buying Timesplitters games when they first come out. They always drop in price and end up being the best games 20 bucks can buy.
