That's what they said on the TV (major news stations), pretty sure I saw something about it in TIME and if I don't recall they found dead American prisoners near the hospital she was located in, she was also beat up really bad as I saw the pictures. Maybe the story changed...even still it was just a shitload of PR, Jessica Lynch getting the Bronze Star was the biggest bullshit I've heard of in the Army or the Armed Forces, she got captured and apparently panicked when the convoy was attacked, to top all of that off her gun was jammed. Way to dis-respect all the other winners of the Bronze Star for real heriosm.

Her injuries stemmed from her vehicle tipping over, the Iraqi doctors who treated her treated her well and made sure she got the best care they could give her given the circumstances, then the US barged in weapons blazing in a PR stunt knowing full well that no Iraqi soldiers were present.
It was a PR stunt, look it up.
