It is a fundamental mistake for any "terrorist" group to form a large standing and open military. The whole success of terrorism in the modern age is it's low-fi, guerrilla warfare tactics. Syria is clearly making a play for the power vacuum Saddam left behind. ISIS = Syria. The brilliance of this is the same as the Taliban. Taliban can be decoupled from Pakistan and Afganistan to fight another day.

No one cries about how rome changed the culture of the world. No one tosses and turns at night about how everyone from the uk probably had a grandmother raped by a viking. No one is waiting for reparations from France for Napoleon.

Have normal Russians started to cry yet about the Bolsheviks and the destruction of 1000s of years of prior culture because of muh oppression? Have they progressed yet enough to join the rest of us with our modern guilt?

There was no country called Bangladesh until 1956. Britain ruled India and other countries by giving priviliges to minorities in said countries.
At 10% of population you reach critical mass to oppress the other 90%, that is how countries like Britain controlled countries far larger then themselves, stole their resources and oppressed their people. In the case of India the privilige was given to the previously oppressed muslim minority.
Lots of Western countries did this, Belgium had the Congo, assholes all over fucked up South africa etcetera.
The genocide of nearly 1 million Tutsi and moderate Hutu`s in Ruanda in 1994 is a direct result of said practices(hatred was incited btw by a white Belgian catholic Priest) as was the Vietnam war, the animosity between India and Pakistan etcetera.

This era is not yet over, we still fuck over the countries we fucked over a hundred years ago.

We in the western world are still directly responsible for the problems in those countries where those people live that some would like to call savages or worthy of wiping of from the face of the earth.
