Hard lesson learned- Now with pictures!

Well that was a failed experiment...

So, on taking pictures for Tuesday's promo piece, the batteries give up the ghost. I ask my sister "Can you recharge regular batteries?" to which she replies "Sure, mom does it all the time." Ok, I'll just toss these Duracells in the recharger for a bit then, see what happens.

Total cost of experiment-

1 really nice surge protector
1 battery recharger
1 Ninja Gaiden wall scroll
1 Megaman backpack

Apparently the batteries went in a quick, hot flash, melting holes in things nearby but thankfully in a place where I didn't burn my entire damn apartment to the ground. Luck? Yeah, I'm feeling it right now.

There's a reason I don't gamble, I need my luck for stupid crap like this. I'm not feeling too clever at the moment...

yeah, that was stupid.

they did used to sell a charger built to recharge normal alkaline batteries. Not sure how well it actually worked however.

I think they changed the way batteries were made so that thing wouldn't work. If you notice, you no longer hear anything about it, and batteries companies now brag about the new materials they put in batteries. Like fucking titanium really helps your battery.

IP, yeah, I love how these mega-batteries give you 10% more usage time, but cost 50% more.

They really did make something that would charge non rechargable batteries. Maybe he thought it was one of those.

I did think this was one of those rechargers you could use on non-rechargeable batteries, actually. Turns out it wasn't. Packaging tells you a lot of things that just aren't true, sometimes it's tricky to know which bits are crap and which bits are just plain good advice. Turns out I guessed wrong this time.

And I'll post some pictures of the melted stuff when I get home. Aggravating too, I was planning on giving Burgundy the Ninja Gaiden wall scroll and Bahn the backpack. They can still have them if they don't mind the melty bits, of course.

It was a really nice surge protector that's going to run me a good chunk of change to replace, too...

Oh hell, I'll post pictures of everything, recharger and power strip inlcuded. Fortunately I bought a load of new batteries yesterday so I'm able to take pictures again.
