Jet Set Radio
60 Hours
Waste of time. Even with all the Graffiti Souls, you can never go and redo your Tags (unless I'm missing something-used copy no manual), which makes them pointless. The unlockable characters aren't too different and give no real reward.


Project Gotham Racing 2
300 Hours
Definately worth it. 4 of the 5 unlockable cars (Delphino Feroce, Merc CLK GTR, Porsche GT1, TVR Speed 12) are either completely dominant in their class or not far behind. Took a lot of time to do it but well worth it.

Advance Wars 2
+-50 hours
Makes a huge difference in the game, giving you the mammoth Tanks (Strongest tank in the game) and characters that have the best special abilites/coolest specials.

I never finished Phantom Challenge II in Wipeout XL. Having to win 8 consecutive gold medals was just too annoying for me to bother. From what I've seen of the Piranha, it isn't really worth the effort.

Final Fantasy Tactics: 75 hours. Beyond being able to say I beat every level in the game and acquired every rare item and spell, I can't say it was worth it. If I played the game again today I wouldn't bother.

I did the WOXL one.

I do think that it's much faster than the previous class, but ultimately not worth it.

Yossi Eyeland Worth every damn second. I am currently working on my 3rd 100% game...the greatest game of all time.

Mario 64 Still worth it, even if the only prize is to see Yossi.

Disgaea Someday, I will clear every single map.

Kingdom Hearts, Virtua Tennis, Gunvalkyrie. Yes.

The only game I ever did that on was Yoshi's Island. The reward was that it was just so much damn fun to do. Worth it.

I was able to beat Tyson's Punchout! without taking a single punch as well....I guess that's like 100%. Also worth it for fun factor alone.

If a game keeps track of something, or includes unlockables, then I don't consider it finished until I've done it 100%... that means I've 100% a lot of games. Usually, there's no reward but satisfaction. Here're some random ones:

Super Magnetic Neo This includes all speed trials and bonus runs. Seemed worth it at the time, but I'm not sure why. Not recommended.

DMC - Beat All Difficulties, got all the suits, Maxed all the powers. - Was it worth it? Hells Yeah !!!

Rygar (PS2) - Did the same thing as with DMC , but satisfaction was much less.

Disgaea - It took me 170 hours, but now, Baal can't even touch my Laharl. The rest of my party isn't so shabby either.

Devil May Cry - I was weeping during Dante Must DIE! mode, but it was well worth it.

Viewtiful Joe - Getting Captain Blue is well worth going through Ultra-V rated mode.

Mario 64 - I felt so accomplished after getting the 120th star. (For the record, my last one was the coin star at Rainbow road.)

Edit: How could I forget Castlevania: SOTN? I got 210% TWICE (Yes, including that glitch 8% from outside the garden)

I 100% pretty much every platformer I play. I'd say the one that was really worth it was Sly Cooper... those extras were awesome.

The worst one was Ratchet & Clank... after 100% that bitch in hard mode all I got were a couple of stupid fucking pictures... I was pissed.

Ratchet & Clank 2 made up for it though with the really cool developers room.

But yeah, I'm pretty obsessive like that. If it's a platformer and I play it, I'm going to 100% it unless the game is absolutely fucking horrible.

OK! Add Symphony of the Night, Ape Escape, and Mario Sunshine to my list.

Also, Donkey Kong Country (SNES). OH! And Super Mario Land 2 + Wario Land 1-4 + Virtual Boy Wario Land.

I 100%ed all three of the DKC games bitch.

While they are deceptive with the numbers, those 120% and 130% are still only just 100% upgraded for inflation.

Jak&D--I don't know why I kept playing it...short and easy, that's why I did it, not worth it
Maximo--Maximo owns, so yeah, it was worth it
Klonoa GBA--fun game, some parts were frustrating to get 100% (the race-type levels)
Super Mario World--You Are a Super Player ! ! ! ! !
The first two CVs on GBA--easy to do, so I guess it was worth it because I had fun
I'm sure there are many more.

As for games I got close but ultimately decided not to get the last 2 percent:
Wipeout Fusion 99%--buggy and stupid. Why did I put so much time into it?
Voodoo Vince--didn't have the desire to go back and collect the very little that was left
Sly Cooper--great game...dunno why I quit doing the last few bits

Easily the most satisfying was Mischief Makers. Not that the reward was necessarily awesome but the feeling of triumph after defeating a boss without getting hit or some of the other hard tasks on the way to each level's gold gem was unmatched (for me).

Crash Bandicoot was another extremely satisfying one. Breaking every box in each level without dying and then getting the shiny colored diamond at the end of the level with the big 100% next to it and the sound effect (it's a little hazy at this point). Ah, bliss. More games need to learn from the heavy hitters that get the little things right that make you want to conquer them utterly and completely.

Rescuing all 99 Mudokons in Abe's Odyssee is one that pretty much wasn't worth it. That would've been fun as hell except for the horrendous save system that game had.

Some games are just too annoying to bother with. Like Mario Sunshine. God, I could do it but I know I'd just hate the game with a passion after suffering through the 20 or so shines I have left. DMC would bring me to my knees and I'm not even sure I could do it considering how much trouble I had just finishing the game on Normal.

Sometimes I'd love to do it but the game drops the ball on making me want to do it. Like the first Ratchet & Clank (haven't played the second yet). Those skill points at the end. They just show you a picture and a title and you're supposed to guess what it is they want you to do? I'd have been up for it if I had clear directions for each skill point; I was still having fun with the game. But I'm not wasting my time guessing (and no doubt guessing wrong more often than not). And if I have to check gamefaqs then screw it, that's missing the point.

105 or 103% in Kirby NES --Pretty good, but easy. Didn't even try, just played without thinking about percentage while exploring everywhere it occured to me to look. No extra effort, so worth it.

Mario 64--definitely worth it...must have done it 2 or 3 times. Made Mario Sunshine really easy (didn't 100% sunshine 'cause of boring blue coin collecting)

Contra: Shattered Soldier --Never have I felt so empty after getting 100% in a game. That was no fun to accomplish and the unlockable movie was pretty weak.

Wreckless (XBox) -- yes, if only to mess around with different filters in real-time. Really showed me what the Xbox could to and it was over in a couple of days, anyway (exchanged it for JSRF, so it all worked out).

Jet Set Radio Future-- Hell no, it wasn't worth it. Score challenge sucked hard and probably shouldn't have even been in that game. Most of the unlocked tags were pretty lame, as well. Speed runs were fun, though..

Megaman X --That hadouken still cracks me up, so yeah...worth it.

Super Mario World --definitely worth it. Finishing the star road and special worlds were especially fun. That one gate that doesn't open a new path, but just repaints an old one and hidden gates behind the gate were pretty cheap tricks, though. No rewards aside from the season change and the mario masks, but it was a ton of fun all the way through.

Virtual Warioland --I think I got 100%...one of the best platformers ever, IMO, so it's worth it.

Warioware, Inc. -- another one I'm guessing at...Don't think it was worth it, but I play mainly single player... paper plane is pretty cool.

Ah! Yes, I remember why I didn't do Mario Sunshine. And now, the perfect excuse for my rant on the subject.

The blue coins.

Collecting all these is exactly the kind of thing I would've loved to do. But they dropped the ball big time in getting me to want to do it in this specific case. Every level had eight chapters (I think, it's hazy again) and there were so many blue coins in each chapter. They fucked up by not telling you how many were left in each chapter. The thought of scouring a chapter high and low that had no more blue coins to find was enough to make me not even try.

Nintendo's usually pretty good in this area though and I think I know why they messed up here. Because some blue coins were in several chapters but not all, some could only be found in one chapter, some in all, etc. They probably couldn't figure out a good way to denote this without it looking like there were more blue coins than the 32 total (or whatever it was) for the level. But there were ways around this and they should've found them 'cause it made me not try. And since this sort of thing is usually my favorite part of a platform game, Mario Sunshine fails for me in that department.

I've beaten a few games 100%, but the only one that i can think of right now that was really worth it was goldeneye. And that was worth it just because it was a fantastic game and the challenges set out were friggin hard.

Ditto on Mischief Makers. I thought the ending length being determined by how many gold gems you have was a great idea.

Though I never even got a single S in MM. I think I'm missing A's in Missile Surfin' and Moley Cow.

Recent memory lends only Mario 64 and Sonic Adventure. Neither were worth it, not even for Yossi.

Missile Surfin' was the last gold gem I got. Something about it really pissed me off, but I can't place what it was.

Forgot about this one, and I agree, it's worth it. Still pretty fun to play, and damn if those filter effects and replays still aren't some of the best looking stuff out there.

majora's mask - definately worth it. lots of cool optional masks/quests.

i'm sure i have more, but i can't think of any that haven't been mentioned..

edit: super smash brothers melee - the single player mode is kinda horrible at times, but it was worth it. there are dozens of significant unlockables, including stages, characters, items, music, etc..

soul calibur - worth it for the same reason.

f-zero gx - worth it for the ax tracks alone.

I haven't gone for 100% in many games. And really, I can't think of any that I've done that have been worth it.

I'm kinda considering for Advance Wars and the Mario games, but that's about it.

If i go for 100% in games its usually for personal satisfaction. If it's hard enough to get, the developers usually dont include anything much for it, figuring few people would even bothered. At least thats what I've gathered from 100%ing the games I have.

Anyone else feel let down from getting all the gold skulltilas in ocarina of time?

Goldeneye - I was obsessed with that game. Unlocked everything. Worth it.

Sonic Adventure 1 & 2 - 1 was worth it (Even with Biggs)

Crazy Taxi - the Crazy Box was worth it (Could never get the last challenge in the pyramid in the 2nd though)

Soul Calibur - unlocked everything. Worth it.

Sega GT - don't know why but I finished first in every race. Really liked that game.

WRC - ditto. awesome game

Jak & Daxter - really liked this one. I thought it was worth it.

UFC - beat the game with every fighter (Can't remember if there was a super hard mode or not, but it was still a challenge on some of them). Not really worth it.

THPS 1,2,3 - did everything (wait - I never unlocked every single gap on the checklist in 2 don't remember if the others had it by I remember considering trying to do it in 2) Worth it.

Sega Rally - Only four tracks but it was fun as hell and well worth it.

Soul Calibur 1&2 - Supremely worth it for all the cool art, costumes, weapons, etc.

HALO - Worth it, if only to polish my skills for LAN matches and to see that funny ass special ending on Legendary.

Beyond Good & Evil - Sure it was worth it, those mini-games are fun.

Robotech: Battlecry - Getting all those medals was a bitch, and not nearly worth it.

Suikoden - Fucking A it was worth it, if only to be able to hear Neclord's kickass organ music without having to spend 50 bucks on an import OST.

Armed & Dangerous - Meh, not really. I was really hoping beyond up for Sam & Max to be unlockable on it, but all I got was some new game modes and a couple of maps that weren't very interesting.

Vandal Hearts - No. Getting those keys was torture, and hardly worth it.

Tenchu 1&2 - Not really. Getting Grandmaster on every board was just fun as opposed to worth it for any sort of payoff.

That's all I think I've 'conquered' off the top of my head.

Umm i think people have mentioned some.. But i always thought getting everyone ** on Chrono Trigger was cool. I dont know how many hours i played just to get everyone **...

Super Metroid.

Ok, so the game's short but I enjoyed it nonetheless, finding everything and fast was the most fun I've ever had in a game. Finding an energy tank stuck in a crevasse in one of the walls of a room in Norfair was magic, I loved every moment.

Ninja Gaiden

I got 100% and unlocked every NES game and no it wasn't worth it. They we're just the SNES redux's and I already own the three first originals on the NES so I'll never play the ones on the xbox version.

Gigawing 2

One of the rare shooters where I actually feel like finding every picture in the stupid galleries. Took me about 3 nights to fully find everything, must of played ~20 hours of Gwing and I loved it to the very end. Getting the Gone ships was awesome, they own the default ones hardcore.

Jet Force Gemini

What I loved about this game was how you got to explore with Juno, Vela and Lupus on the different worlds, and how each one could explore different areas. I'd say this was one of Rare's finest games, I enjoyed this alot more then Donkey Kong and finding all the ship parts, etc was a hell of a lot of fun. Worth it.

Soul Calibur 2

The best fighter of all time, 2D, 3D whatever, I spent over 150 hours playing and mastering this game. Even when I was done with weapon master mode after 48 hours or so, I still kept leveling up my Raphael just beating the crap out of Xianghua with my escrime. I'd say it's towards the last 50 hours I played that I really got obsessed and knew every counter/grapple/ soul charge move that every character could do. I got really bummed out when I learned that the College had a SC2 and SSB:Melee tourney the day I was off from class. :( This game was MOST DEFINETLY worth it. I'm lovin it.

Otogi: Myth of Demons

I think I enjoyed this alot more then most people, then again, this is TNL, where we appreciate what the rest of the world won't. Finding every weapon was alot of fun, and I never got bored whatsoever, the style of that game ruled and I'd love to pick it up again, which would be pretty simple what with school over today.

I'll post more when I get home, this was just a good way to kill my break before class. kekekekeke. ;)

Ugh, just remembered San Francisco Rush. SO UTTERLY NOT WORTH IT. Wait, maybe it was kinda worth it, I don't remember. (did you unlock that giant pipe track? that was cool. but i think i had that before i did everything.)

regardless, getting some of those gold keys was the 2nd most frustrated i've ever been in a game (with Poochy Ain't Stupid being number one).

DKC 1-3 (snes), Jet Force Gemini, GoldenEye 007, Sly Cooper, Zelda: OoT and others. GoldenEye was definitely worth it for me because my friends and I always played it back in the day. Sly was also very worthwile as it was such a fun platform/adventure game :)

Stuntman - Although you don't get jack shit for getting a %100, the sense of accomplishment you get from it is second to none.

THPS2 - This is the only game in the genre that I truely got %100. I usually finish all the requirements with a single character to beat the game, but I don't bother with gap lists or anything, but not with THPS2. I spent hours upon hours getting %100 with every single normal, special skater and 4 custom skaters, as well as figuring out the entire gap checklist on my own as well as getting high scores in every level. I think it was definitely worth it, but I definitely paid the price, by the time thps3 came out I was burnt, I didn't return to my past level of ferver until thug.

oh yeah, add all the Metroids to my list.

Only one game and it was worth it: Super Mario World.

Since the Item World maps are infinite in number, I say you won't. :p

I've 100% Morrowind... okay, I'm lying, but if I hadn't split my playtime over four characters and two consoles I probably would have.

Most games I get close, but it seems way too much effort to get that final 5% so I go on to another game. Rarely are the rewards worth the time or effort entailed. Unless it's a short game like Gunvalkyrie, but I don't even consider that worth the effort.

I always thought it'd be ridiculous to one-up that and by using tabs, get every possible stat for every person up to **... I don't even know who'd waste the time though, heh. CT was a hell of a lot of fun, but that's just masochistic.

And I think some of these games may not have been worth it, but one for me that wasn't a chore was Super Mario 64. I mean, I didn't want to stop playing that game, heh. Same with Super Mario World. When I'm bored with newer games I pull them out, complete a game, then put them back away. Never seems to get old.

Can't say the same about Sunshine. I didn't care to finish it once. I don't mean 100%. I mean finish the game period.

I did get everything in DMC2 though, and that was something of a bore. The game's so easy that even the Must Die modes were dull. DMC was a much more rewarding and fun experience in every single way possible. Well, the Diesel costumes are kind of cool, and so is playing as Trish in DMC2, but besides that.

Is it possible to get 200% on SOTN without using the glitch? I swear I did everything and only got like 199.7 or something. Mario 64, Soul Calibur 1/2, Capcom vs SNK, Chrono Trigger, Vandal Hearts...not too many. Maybe I've forgotten some.

Yeah, the max is about 202% I think. With the glitch you get an extra 8%.

i liked getting 100% in Super Mario World. and i could fly through and kill 100% enemies and not get hit once in the original Starfox. that was when i was good at games.

I got whatever the max was in DKC 2, I've never been a huge fan of getting 100% stuff just for the sake of getting it.

oh yeah, i raped the original DKC. god i loved that game. i forgot to mention i even did the slot machine at the end of Star Fox and spelled out whatever word it was expecting something big.......and the ship just kept flying......forever.

I'm in the process of 100%ing it. Is it worth it? That depends on what you mean. If you expect to then have extra stuff to do once you've unlocked everything, then I guess some would say it isn't worth it. To me, just having more stuff to do and unlock is more than enough for me. Sure, the extra challenges (race, timed tag, etc.) are stupid easy compared to the first, but still nice to have them.

Silent Hill 3
I pretty much beat the game in every way possible when it first came out. That way, I could say I was totally done with it and not have to go back to it pretty much ever. *heh* I've yet to totally finish the original. I've played through and picked up every single item in the game, I've killed every single spawed creature in the game (which often would require killing a creature, leaving, and then coming back to kill it again until it finished spawning), I've gotten all of the endings, but I've yet to get a perfect final score. Personally, I think it's impossible. *heh*

I'm sure I've done more... I'll have to give it some though. I typically don't 100% a game unless I really love it, though.

Castlevania: COTM GBA- what a waste of time.

Klonoa GBA- I was very close to %100, but gave up. This game got so boring after a while.

Mario 64- worth it

Starfox 64- worth it

Sonic Adventure- worth it

Brave Fencer Musashi PSX- not worth it. I remember having to buy action figures in the game to get %100. Once all were bought, I beat the game again and received a picture of all the characters (or some such nonsense.)after the credits. Wow, a picture for all that work.

Spyro the Dragon PSX- fun, but too easy

Super Mario World SNES- worth it

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 PS2- definitely NOT worth it. I can't believe I played through the career mode with every skater. THPS2 is one of my favorite games of all time (Regus would know that); I played THPS2 like it was my religion. But, there was something about #3 that completely alienated me from the franchise. It could have been the level design, it could have been the scoring system (because of the added special trick slots, getting over 1 million points wasn't "impressive" anymore), or maybe something else. But, whatever it was, I was burnt out, and didn't feel like "going for a high score" anymore.

Soul Calibur 1 and 2- my friends hardly ever play fighting games, so therefore I only play the single player mode. Once I unlocked everything, both games went straight to the shelf. Not worth it for me.

Quake 3 Arena PC- Beating every level on nightmare. Not really worth it, except for bragging rights. Rewarding, nonetheless.

Brave Fencer Musashi (which was worth it by the way.)

Final Fantasy 7,8,9. (when I played through these, it was all I did. If you could go there, fight it, play it, collect it whatever, I did it. Maxed out my characters in each one too.)

Spyro The Dragon (first game I ever 100% on)

Tony Hawk 1 and 2 (worth it at the time)

Soul Calibur (it was the only game I played for months.)
