i too was faced with a similar delemma just last weekend.
The Cowboy Bebop boxset or a gamecube? since i only had $190, it was an easy choice :)
enjoy your box. and smash brothers... i just wish circuit city would take that stupid demo out and put the real game in the display booth :)
Soccer Slam is great for unlocking stuff alone, and then playing the hell out of with friends.
I'd also suggest Burnout if you like arcadey-style racers (as in, not what GT aims for but more what MSR goes for), but placed in city streets with full traffic. Damned fun for me!
Mmmm good choice. Im more so concerned with which one I should get first. I cant live without on or the other. But i dont think anyone could go wrong with choosing any one of the systems, they all seem so wonderful in thier line up for the coming year.
Hey Pheonix, Im pretty excited about Rune too.. but I havent been able to find much info on it. Its the RPG where you use cards to summon monsters to battle for you right? Ive always thought it looked cool, and the few videos Ive seen make it look like alot of fun. I just havent found much info on it.

It's good to see that there are other people on the site excited about it like I am.
Well, I hope you will enjoy your new Cube. There are few great games on it that you can enjoy and have fun with.
RE Remake - Great game, awesome visuals, good gameplay and some replayability. Not very long though, but still fun.
SSBM - I became a fan of this one, and me and DJ had a great time playing it.
Rogue Leader - Great SW game. Cool space combat and visuals.
Agent Under Fire - Very good James Bond action fps/car combat game. Great graphics, improved multiplayer and many secrets.
Bloody Roar Fury - Sure its no VF4, but still a great fighting game and very fun IMO. Just played PS2 version last night with DJ and we hade excellent time.
And Eternal Darkness and Dino Planet coming soon. Plus RE 0.
ANd if Mario and Celda is your bag, add those to the list as well :)

one other thing-i love the packaging/manuals of the games i have so far, just wondering how that area is on the xbox side of things. is the packaging as nice? fresh nintendo games smell soo good
Yes! I did it! Got one. A sexy little black number. Someone decided it wasnt for him and traded it into my store for credit and got and Xbox. Used sale price + my employee discount = couldn't resist. Of course, I bought RC De GO!, Golden Sun and the Gunvalkyrie sound track this weekend already, so I dont really have the cash to buy a game.. oh well, I can caress it for a week or so.
The GC packaging is a bit cooler than the Xbox packaging, IMO.Quote:

I'm just a tad bit more into the Xbox than the Cube (for now), but I'll be fair.
Xbox-
Ugly ass green DVD cases.
Cheap disc holder inside said ugly case.
Manuals vary. Most, if not all in color.
Overall, nothing too special. Not bad, just fine.
GC-
Normal black DVD case.
Sweet little disc in it's high quality snap in place holder. Feels sturdy.
Manuals are up to par with previous Nintendo systems. That's means great.
Overall better than the Xbox packaging, IMO.
Oh, and try out Spiderman. It's decent fun.
I don't even really bother myself with GC packaging, honestly. Thanks to the tiny-ass size of those discs, I usually open the case, take a brief look at the manual, and then pop the disc into my Nyko mini-DVD folder. Just like a soft CD carrier, but smaller, much more perfect for those discs.
