In japan arcades are big, but do you really think its strictly because they dont have online games? I dont think so. I dont even think everyone has internet over there. Plus maybe they go to arcades just to leave the house. There's just a lot of other better reasonings as to why Namco wont make their fighting games online compatible than because it would ruin their arcade business. I think that sounds like an extremely sketchy reasoning actually with no basis for it at all.
Yeah. that's why I think Namco doesnt want ot take any of their old series online. I know AM2 wont take VF online unless Sammy forces them to. Both developers should just make a new series for online play. I want my VF with 1 frame moves etc.Quote:

I like that idea as well. It would make sense. The downside is making a game that would please fans of both games and that is almost impossible.Quote:

So online play it is.
just got this badboy in down here at Narrows Bowling alley in Tacoma, WA. Holy SHIT are these korean ballsticks stiff as fuck. gonna take a good week + to get these things nice and loose.
positives: you can still wavedash, kazuya now has an EWGF, paul can fake a few of his attacks, jack 5 has some huge speed upgrades, nina no longer sucks ass like she did in TTT, jin is useless, etc
negatives: raven = n00b spam king(imagine how everyone played eddy in tekken3, but then add massive damage and a really REALLY compitent high low game), no universal low parry, way to many fobs came out of the wood work to play paul(saw a round that lasted 5 seconds due to counterhit cheesefist), animations for ALOT of the moves have changed...making the ability to read an opponent damn near useless again, damage scaling is HUGE. doh
this one is gonna need some practice and i give it 5 weeks before someone finds an 80% combo(i mean COME ON...bruce is time released)
Checked the game out this weekend at the arcade. Total rip-off is my main complaint. 3 tokens ($.75) per play just isn't worth it. The newbs refuse to play against real players since matches can go by pretty fast. And the competitive players are just going to run out of money too quickly. I know this is mainly a local problem, but I've heard of a lot of arcades charging even $1.00 per play. Just ridiculous. Way to kill the already dead arcades...
The game itself seems fine. The jabfest problems from Tekken 4 seem to be gone. Most of the characters seem to have been tweaked enough to make it worthwhile, and the new dudes all seem very different. I'll be anxiously awaiting the PS2 release.
God, Kazuya sooo had a EWGF in Tekken 4. Also, it looks like quite a few characters have some insane juggles. I don't know about 80%, but it seems like 50-60% is fairly commonplace.Quote:

note: universal low parries ARE in game, just tested them last night with a huge amount of characters.
80% is NOT out of the realm of possibilities here as i'm pulling off 40% combos with christie no problem(same with law).
notes about christie:
df+2 juggles off of counter hit
qcf+3,b+4,4 works
4,3 in relaxed stance juggles now
b+2 is the shit(auto sidesteps, really fast, and has great range)
db+1+2 is a great juggle starter/wakeup attack
f+3 hits on people on the ground now
f+3+4 juggles
she has a ducking grab now
safe pokes:
d+1
d+4
(1,2)
ss+3
df+2
u+4
basic juggles:
relax stance(RLX), 4~3(ends in handstand), 1, ws1~3
f+3+4,b+3,3,d+3
qcf+3,(1,2,4,4)
df+2(stun/knockdown),b+3,3 or f+3+4
she has some more difficult ones off of the db+1+2 attack as well, but im not listing anything until i get some more time to test what works
Paul has a 100%. Only works in a corner though. (not just a wall, but a corner.)
That's a bad thing?Quote:
