Sounds good, but if it's only the GC version made portable, I'll pass. I've played that version to death and was really looking forward to an online GC sequel instead of a DS version. It looks great though and anyone who has never played AC in the pass needs to get their head out of their butt and buy this.
This is serious DS game of the year. If they make it work so that you can connect to other towns and basically the whole she-bang, this is going to be worth every penny. EVERY penny.
Even if it's the same game from the Cube, the ability to meet and trade with other people make a huge difference.
Imagine me jumping into your town from states away, and cutting down like 10 of your trees and running away. IMAGINE!

all i know is that textures are gonna be crazier than ever now. same goes for letters.
also, the first pictures make it seem like there's gonna be real time communication. that should comfirm that the game is gonna be full force online. like we even needed any confirmation though, i mean, anything that's gonna have multiplayer on DS will more than likely be online.

ok so i just went into the buy column for the ds. i hate to bring up connectivity, but hey i wonder if it will access hidden things for ac2? that, plus the online possibility makes it a very interesting title for me.

Nintendo has really shocked me... I never would have expected such a positive response to the system (after early discussion), but threads like this prove quality software and ideas can really sway people.
Animal Crossing seems like such a perfect fit for this system... and online... oh geez... the head exploding picture was particularly apt for describing the potential here.
