That seemed to be the original plan, but the new footage yesterday look much better than what was seen before. Plus there seemed to be a ton of new stuff going on in what seemed to be a single-player environment.
As a huge Conker fan that was disappointed with the original Xbox plans, color me very interested.
Its still just a remade version of the 64 game, but remade like crazy! Multiplayer is completly different though. The graphics look fucking great!! I guess we now know what Rare's been doing for the last year.
Just read an article about it on IGN.
Basically, the single-player is a straight remake from the first, with a couple tweaks and changes made, and enhanced graphics. The multiplayer is completely different from the (amazing) multiplayer in the first, you can choose a bunch of different roles like Team Fortress Classic. I'm excited, but as you can tell from my avatar I'm definitely biased.
That trailer that spoofs Terminator 2 is sick, you should download it if you get the chance.
I downloaded it. Pretty sweet stuff. Looks good, Rare needs a hit like 88mph needs a hit.
I just saw this video, and the game looks amazing. I don't have live, but I think it'll be worth getting just to play the original game over again, but with whatever Rare has decided to add for this new XBOX incarnation.
It looks great. I saw the vids that epmode has on his site. Where can I get the T2 trailer?
Downloaded the trailer last night, it really does have awesome graphics. It reminds me of Banjo Kazooie, only on steroids. Never played BFD so I'll most likely be buying this.
I love the visuals in the game, and combined with the gameplay of the N64 game, it's a fantastic combination. Not sure if I'll buy it on day one, but I'm definitely excited about this game.
This game looks interesting but I would've liked a full on sequel. I'll play it and not complain.
Haha, I was telling everyone about this in chat the moment it hit. Looks insanely good, though I never doubted Rare.
Neither have I, and neither has burgundy.Quote:

What is this I see? Just about unanimous praise of Rare.....HERE?!?!? At TNL?!? What dimension did I walk into?
You have entered a dimention not of sight or of sound...but of mind. You have just entered, The Twilight Zone.
I'm the guy who made the "I love Grabbed by the Ghoulies" thread. I'm ALL about the Rare love. ;)
Grabbed by the Ghoulies is a fantastic game. Screw the haters. :)

but that still didnt make me ever doubt Rare's prowess. i know they have it in them. just because they got bought by a major publisher for a ridiculous amount of money and havent proven thier worth yet means nothing to me.
they have made some of the coolest games ever, and im looking forward to what they are going to be coming out with in the next few years. im sure there will be some classics.
the original Conker kicked all kinds of ass, and this remake is looking good. hopefully soon, they will be pulling out the big guns.
Rare should really stop with the copy nintendo games and sequel mentality. Their best games are always their original works and not their nintendo clones or sequels.
Battletoads
Blast Corps
Wizards and warriors
Marble Madness
Killer Instinct
Golden Eye
JFG
CBFD
While in general their sequels never wow you as much as the original, their original work is always great.
Rare only ported Marble Madness and Wizards and Warriors to the NES. They didn't actualy develop them.Quote:

Heck yeah. Blast Corps was one of my favorite games on N64. I also don't understand all the backlash that the DKC series got. The second one is a great game.
Conker remade on the Xbox is possibly one of the greatest things that will happen to me in the March of 2005. The multiplayer looks godlike, and the fact that I can play against bots whenever I like is fucking killer. I can't wait to see some of my favorite scenes from the single-player again, like Rock Solid and the Reaper.
This game, instant 10.
I new Blast Corps game would be the shit.
So this is coming out later this month. Anyone else plan on picking it up. I went ahead and pre-ordered it for the free demo. It's nothing special, but I figured why the hell not.
One thing I want to know, is if it will include all the old multiplayer games along with the new Live mode. Some of the older multi modes were freakin sweet.
Funny, I was just looking in this thread to find out the same thing.... It seems unlikely though since they never mention it in anything I've read... a shame really.Quote:

Everyone mentions they hope a game has "little lag" but I haven't had any lag issues for any Xbox Live game except Top Spin. Maybe I've just been lucky.
Never ever play CvS2 over Live. Ever.Quote:

Get a "free" Conker demo, for only $5 shipping. Thanks MS.
I believe that is the same demo you can pick up in stores fro free with a pre-order. The demo is nothing special. Shows a few cut scenes, a semi funny "Where is Conker now", the exact same playable demo from Jade Empire, d/l'able soundtrack but only 5 tracks, and a really crappy showing of the multi player maps. It only shows 2 and all it does is show an drawing from an over the top view.Quote:

As for the game, I'm planning on picking it up. I loved what I played on N64 and I loved the demo and idea of what seems like an awesome multiplayer game, so, I'm there.
Yeah, all you do is press A again while playing the song. They are actualy pretty cool, but I really don't see me using them in any other game soundtracks.Quote:

Awesome. Thanks. ^^Quote:

Friendly bump for Marwan.
IGN said it's "bleeped to be funnier." I don't see how that makes it funnier. I know this is not news that it's censored, just the fact that people would actually say it's a good thing in a review (I know, I know... it's IGN). Personally, with the exclusion of sections from the original game, the censorship, and the multiplayer only being one game mode instead of many, I'll be passing on this... at least for now.
I never played the original Conker on 64, but fart and piss jokes don't do it for me. Maybe some masterbatory references or possibly some recent pop culture remarks, but grabbing your crotch and bleeping out the word "fuck" does not make me laugh.
Regardless, I'm getting this game today.
Bleeps can be turned off. You just have to unlock the option first.Quote:

Xbox 360 is about to launch and we finally get another game......and it's a remake of a not even 5 year old N64 game! How many console games has Rare made since Conker, like 2?
If this were a Conker sequel I would be all over it, or if Conker was an ancient game that really needed a remake maybe, I just don't understand this. With all the work that's gone into this game why not just design new levels and make a new game?
I'd never played it on N64, so this is all new to me, but it loads like every other room, and it's annoying.
I still don't understand what makes Conker funny.
FUCK SHIT POO
*fart* *fart *fart* *fart*

Christ.
It looks good though, I'll give it that.
that's a crappy "unlockable." What do you have to do to get it?Quote:

So in other words, it's the same as the N64 version. Wonderful.
SHIT DICK FUCK FART POO
IGN says the online game is really boring and actually takes awhile to get into. The reviewer said he'd give the single player a 9 and the online a 7 I think. Heres a quote for the IGN review of the online "My guess is that about half the people who play this will love it. They'll write in angry letters about what an idiot I am (and admittedly, I am an idiot). The other half will find it boring, slow and no fun at all" .
Spawn camping sounds like a huge problem. How the fuck can spawn camping still be a problem in any game?
I'm still going to buy the game for the single player, but I was really hoping for a good online game. I'm so sick all the Live games that are out right now. Damnit.
Please tell me no one on TNL was dumb enough to pay full launch price for this.
Umm yeah. Whats the big surprise?Quote:

Blur/Depth of Field + low res (and no anisotropy filtering) is not good for my eyes. Too bad this isn't on pc or something..high res would do wonders as the game has nice graphics.
I'm too lazy to read the rest of the thread so someone fill me in, is it cencored or not?

As for the depth of field effects..ugh..its awful and I couldn't take it anymore. Its totally overused. Didn't bother my friend though. Maybe since I'm primarily a pc gamer the low res is what bothered me...maybe you'll be ok with it.

I own a N64, I think I can stomach low res :)

Alright guys, I hope you can stay cool over a question. I didn't feel like spending the time wading through 2 pages of posts so I asked a simple question. Yes, typing a few sentances and pressing a button was a lot simpler. Cheers.
I enjoyed the game on N64, but I never felt compelled to finish it... the multiplayer is where it shined, and now that's gone and shit on.Quote:

I'm seriously thinking about picking it up, especially if it looks like we can get a decent TNL Live community going. I know Brad was also interested. The problem with many Live games is that the TNLers usually last for about a week, an then you're stuck with the masses -- which is often pretty damned ugly.Quote:

Given that the game is in stores, I'm pretty sure they have no desire to put more detail in the boob. Given how much more detail is in Conker's fur, I'm sure it's plenty detailed.

I plan to play single player more tonight. So far its the N64 game but with purdy graphics and a few things changed around. The controls are better for attacking now because when you pull out any weapon it goes into dual stick mode. There is loading now. Though minor, it kinda sucks. I'll play more later. If you have questions let me know. Basically if you liked the 64 game you WILL like this. If the 64 game didnt do anything for you rent it.Quote:

If you want an idea of how the multiplayer is mix Return to Castle Wolfenstein with Unreal Tournament, add a dash of Counterstrike and Team Fortress Classic, stir vigorously, then play.
