Capcom Fighting Jam

I don't know, it just seems to me as though capcom is passing by a golden opportunity to make a high res marvel (or xmen) game that would get just about everyone's attention. Kids today are stupid, and won't look past a game's graphics if they suck, so if they would be able to pull it off they could increase their 2D fighter fanbase quite a bit.

I'll be kind of sad if Ken isn't in the game. I hate Ryu, HAAAAAAAATE Akuma, but I like Ken. Don't know why, but I do. I like to play him, but I'm not one of those people who thinks your main offense should be a fireball, so I can excuse myself.

I want MvC2 Jill. If we get Jill, I'd be happy. I'd just like to see more of a variety of characters. Don't just do Capcom fighting games - add characters from all Capcom games.

Same. Well, I don't really hate Ryu or Akuma, but I don't use them much. I'm more about uppercuts than fireballs, and the emphasis on kicks is a good thing. Not to mention how damaging shinryuken tends to be, and giving him Sean's flipping kick thing in CvS2 was a pretty cool addition. He just seems to have more personality to me.

Anyway, more Capcom charas that haven't appeared in fighters before would mean more new sprites. Granted, I highly doubt Ingrid will be the only new character in the game, but I think if they can avoid it, they will. I was happy that Jill was in MvC2, not to mention Hayato... though I think the transformation of Son Son from the monkey hero to some weird androgyne was... questionable. Anyway, I'd like to see them in this game, maybe paired with one other RE and Star Gladiator character each. I remember having lists of characters I'd love to see in Capcom 2D fighters, but I won't even talk about them now, it's too depressing.

Wait, they don't? Why not? I don't remember her from any of the AvP comic books or anything... I thought the humans in that game were original characters. If Capcom doesn't own them, who does?

I know this has already been said more than once before -- but Capcom seriously needs to step it up a notch, get off the recycled animation tip and get on the ball. If Sammy can pull of a graphic wonder with Guilty Gear X, why can't they demonstrate the same caliber with their most popular fighting franchises?

If they were going to upgrade, it would've been evident in this pre-alpha version.

I have a feeling that all the new characters from Capcom Fighting All-Stars will be in the game (that's where I remember Ingrid from). Other than that, I don't have any idea how many other new characters they may add.

Who knows though, maybe they will branch out to some none fighters and at least have the same amount of "new sprite" characters as Capcom vs. SNK 2.

As far as future games, I hope that the talk that they had with gamers a little while ago will go into practice soon.

I don't care about "new sprite" characters -- I want to see the entire engine feature new/old characters under a new srpite engine. C'mon Capcom, quit being lazy. :(

I agree with you there. I thought that the long fighter gap would have been used to do just that. Who knows, maybe it is, but Capcom is releasing this for those who really can't wait for their redefined engine, or they may just be releasing a game to keep their characters in people minds.

Though it was canned, Capcom Fighting All-Stars did show that Capcom was exploring other ways to present it's fighters (alas the made the mistake of going 3D when they really weren't ready to).

So there's still hope that a new engine will appear eventually.

Capcom and redefined engine isn't going to ever apply in a new sentence (at least, not until they've squandered more of their long-time fans).

Capcom All-Stars wasn't really nothing new either, it was just introducing a marquee of favorite/obscure characters in a polished SF EX engine.

I don't mean to shoot down your optimism, but let's be honest with ourselves and analyze their track record. That engine isn't appearing in Fighting Jam, and it's naive to assume otherwise.
