Do you have to copy your BF2 folder and install this beta there? I remember reading you cant patch the actual beta once the full version comes out. Or do you just re-install the entire game everytime the official patch comes out?

Prolly just re-install.
I couldn't find my old copies of BF 2 or Special Forces so I guess I must've sold them.
I looked at my EA account and it still has the two booster packs available, though, so I wonder if I can find some way to reinstall the patch and the boosters without having to buy a new game.
Even if not, it's only like $10 for a new copy. I wonder if the new copy will void all my old packs, though.
You'll have to buy a new copy for sure. You need it for the boosters. A new copy won't void yer old stuff. Its tied into your EA account so you should be good to go.

I like the fact that they are actively updating this patch and trying to make it perfect. Hopefully they achieve everything they want to do with it. I just reinstalled 1.41 and don't feel like testing it again, so I'm gonna sit this one out. Can't wait till the final is out. I really like what they're doing so far.
I got the game, installed the beta patch, but it looks like the only servers up are in Europe, which means shit ping and shit hit detection.
Guess I might as well roll back to the 1.41 patch until the official 1.50 patch comes out.
You guys still playing this?
Do you coordinate via Steam or Xfire?
We still use xfire. My crew is waiting for the official patch - conrooks' people the same thing i think. Also you might have your filters goofed up if only euro servers are up. This game still has a huge following so that doesnt make sense.
Definitely go to 1.41 till the final patch comes out. I'll still play whenever. Xfire is the easiest way to get into games. Still works well. Don't worry about booster packs since hardly any servers run them. There are still dedicated Special Forces servers out there that I frequent though. Ghost Town forever !
After everyone thought this game was dead, and definatly after everyone said EA/DICE do not support their games - the Battlefield 1.50 Final Patch is to be released on Sept 1st 2009. There is alot of awesome tweaks. All the details are posted below but the biggest news (which was a kept a secret till now) is that all of the booster map packs are now included FREE into the patch along with a brand new map. This means alot of servers could be running the full set of maps without having to worry about people dropping because they dont own it. Great news. Install your BF2 now and patch it up to 1.41 (which is required before installing 1.50). I'll be on xfire all the time - just message me. Looking forward to it...
