Thinking about getting a PDA
So I dont know much about these. Though, I've been thinking about getting something so I can actually have some semblance of orginization. So basicly, are they worth it? Whats better between a pocket PC and a Palm? Most importantly, what games are available that I can waste my time with when Im supposed to be at a meeting? Do these things beep or something if I have an appointment coming up? Or would I have to keep checking it all day long to make sure Im doing what Im supposed to be doing?

Since no one has bothered to bite (prolly because they don't care or possibly even know what a PDA does), I'll answer.
Having a personal digital assistant is a lot different in making a decision for say, a cell phone.
PDAs have been around for a few years now, and have lately become something of a trend now beyond business types. They're a great tool for organizational purposes. Pocket PCs are basically a different edition than a PDA, both offer similar functionality; but from what I've researched, it is basically as the term entails - it allows you to carry out tasks and offers relative luxuries similar to a portable PC whether its utilizing word documents, playing MP3s, games, etc.
Various PDAs vary in size, memory resources and features. I currently have the Palm m515 (picked one up for E3) - it's in color, has up to 16mb of RAM, and offers several options for expansion such as wireless internet, email (date enabled through a cell phone or modem). Plus, by using Bluetooth, your PDA can be converted into a wireless accessory which can activate other hardward such as a printer or scanner, using an adapter that hooks up to your PC. :)
Both a Pocket PC and PDA allow you to invest in a keyboard, instead of using a stylus (the pen-like tool which you'll use to write characters in the input area using what's called Grafitti).
As for investment, prepare to spend anywhere from 250 and up (my model retails for $400 and is one of the most common models), they're always coming out with something new, so it's best to outline what you're looking to get out of the PDA, whether it's a Palm or Pocket PC.
Check out http://www.palm.com for more info regarding Palm
and http://www.microsoft.com/mobile/pocketpc/default.asp for the Pocket PC - even though personal opinions are good, it's best to go to the sources for your own research.
Btw...if you're getting a PDA just for games, my advice would be NOT to waste your money...this is just an additional accessory to the system's primary purpose - an organizational tool. Get a GBA if you're looking to have games on the go.
But if you're truly serious about one, if you've followed industry reports over the years...PDAs have become the latest outlet for publishers to promote their respective titles. Sega just recently launched SegaMobile and a number of high-end publishers, including Capcom (announced a SF title) as of recent are providing a variety of games. (Rayman on the PDA looks great, especially if your model has a high level of dpi)
Playing in a meeting? How professional :p

Only if you tell it to. PDAs are a lot like the conventional organizers, which come with an alarm clock and memo settings in which you can designate an appointed time for the PDA to alert you of an event (and configure the sound effects based on what is featured in your model). My unit comes with close to a dozen sound effects.
There's no need for you to check it everyday if you assign a setting...some models, like the m515 also has a vibrating function, so it's possible to be alerted in a discreet fashion.
Any other questions, just ask :)
