No doubt there are a lot of the people in Canada speaking other languages at home amongst their families. Speaking English is still a necessity here though(outside of Quebec) and the vast majority of these people have fluent English.Quote:

My point was that many newcomers are actually being discouraged from learning English by having things catered to them in their languages. For example, when I went to get my driver's license, the tests were available in Chinese, Korean, Punjabi, and other languages. This is bullshit as far as I'm concerned and a waste of tax dollars. If I moved to Poland and wanted to get a driver's license would I expect them to have all the tests available in English for me? Of course not.
