While, I could understand how most siters had so many other games to try, not a single hands on impression?
Has it even been announced for the US?
I am pretty sure it was. It would be a damned shame if we didn't get to try one of Yu Suzuki's games. :(
Yeah. It's Virtua Quest in the US.
don't know how involved Suzuki is. He's at Digital Rex now, remember?Quote:

Yeah, he had zero to do with this and even said so in an early interview when this was first announced. I forget the name of the director, though it might have been the current head of AM2, since I'm pretty sure this is an AM2 project.Quote:

Agreed. It's more important than a Sega Rally sequel though. :rolleyes:Quote:

As for Digital Rex, their game on the show was Amazing Island for Gamecube. Looked cute but didn't play.
I saw it at Sega's booth and was quite underwhelmed.
It looks like Pokemon meets Megaman.exe meets Virtua Fighter. You play some spunky goofy-looking kid who goes into "cyberspace" to fight it out against the realistically rendered VF cast. Seeing a squatty anime kid fight Akira takes an edge off the serious angle VF has always had as a fighter.
I didn't get the chance to play it first-hand though, but if looks are anything to go by, do not expect another VF. Or an RPG based off Virtua Fighter characters and their world. It looks like what they pulled with Sonic in Sonic X - make a generic cast and world, and throw in the videogame characters almost as an afterthought.
Just my 2 cents.
Apparantly, it looks and plays like an updated RAH No. 1, which has me quite hyped.
Indeed. Now with arcade loving Sammy in charge, hopefully Sega Rally 3 will show up and they'll cancel this here insult to Virtua Fighter.Quote:

the game still has potential i think. i mean, really, all the game is is a btea em up, that let's you do moves from the VF series. really, i'd still keep an eye on this one, the demo at the sow literally had everything taken out. all you could do was punch, jump, kick, and wall run. all that super combo stuff, and grapling hook thing was gone. not to mention that there was only one move from the VF series in the demo.
oh, and is Amazing Island is totally not being developed at digialRex. Hitmaker is making that. c'mon now, digitalRex is in charge of cinematic games remember?
The game isn't made for VF fans really. It's made to bring more people into the VF series. Will the elements that tie it to VF be dumbed down and simplified? Yes. Does that make it a bad game? No.
I have high hopes for the game. Granted I dont like the visual style of it very much, but the video makes it look damn fun.
what's been dumbed down?Quote:

I was under the impression that the moves have been made easier to pull off. Less button presses and not as strict timing. Guess Im wrong?
Quick summary of VQ: Kingdom Hearts with less retarded combat.
I thought it was pretty decent looking.
Ah yes, you're right. My bad.Quote:

Actually, SpikeOut was very good imo.
Outrun 2 link-up was there, Astro Boy, Dororo.
Other than that not much else. (Matrix Online, Warhammer Online, Sega Superstars, Cellphone games...wtf?)
Here's a movie for anyone who hasn't seen it to download.

Osaki is the director and iff Teddman gets his act together the interview we had with the guy should soon be up here.
Nice trailer, and the combat definitely looks lifted from RAH No. 1.
Sweet.Quote:

The only post you need to read:
Yes it was there. It looked like crap. You don't want it. Trust me.
You don't need to wait on Teddman if someone else gets their act together.Quote:
