I got into a hit and run on I-95 (I was the one getting hit), but luckily, there was traffic and I had enough time to see his lic. plate (it was U64 PSX, which is hilarious to me).

It took like 6 months and I had to testify in a trial, but I got my $1000 deductible + rental car expenses back. So nyah.

Pussy-ness aside then, should I have approached the officers and other driver? I thought everything would have been under control, and I would get the necessary information within the next few days. There was no doubt that he was the guy who hit me. I also forgot to mention that he took off running, so you know something was up with him. Perhaps he had a previous record?

I've never been in this type of situation before.

you probably dont need to appear in front of him and point him out. Just see what the cops say and I believe that the damage from the vehicle will be enough evidence. If you wait long, then the cops will believe your story less.

He owes you. Go get yours. You wont have to take him on in a toughman competition. Even so, you have faced Mariachi and lived. You will be fine.

Everyone out here sucks at driving. They suck at parking, changing lanes, using their blinkers, using the on/off ramps on the freeways, and paying attention to traffic signs. Why? Becuase I live in southern California.

Just last week i was parked in a shopping area doing some errands, and some asshole with a trailer hitch (or something like that) backs up into me and takes off. No note or anything. Now theres this square indentation in the front bumper. The fiber glass is broken all the way through. Words would not express my anger.

My wife picked me and one of my friend's up from a bachelor party about 3 weeks ago and we got rear-ended by a drunk driver. We had go itentify him and stuff. I wasn't to happy about that.
Best part, Dude has no insurance, so guess who's premiums are going up? Not to mention that we are out $250 for the deductable. We're planning on sueing him ourself to recoup the cost for the insurance company, to avoid our rate increase and get our deductible back.

BTW Shinobi, if he is charged with H&R on your vehicle, his and your name will appear on the accident report, so he will have access to your info. Not that it's a big deal.
