Got Next?

Since GN isn't affiliated with TNL it seems to be in poor taste to come here posting the thread in gaming discussion and this thread (stickied even) in an attempt to lure the community over there. Saying "The Next Level begins again" is improper since the Next Level will continue to exist. You should be saying something like "from the original creators of The Next Level", if anything. You're also taking a lot of TNLs board content with you inculding the Haul thread, similiar boards, and Bahn even references making it like TNL in his posts.

If you want to get back into running a gaming fansite, but feel that it can't be as a part of TNL, then you should be starting from scratch. You're now TNLs competitor (even if it may be a friendly competition) and to me this feels like an abuse of your standing here. I'd like to hear the management's official opinion on the matter.

thats what i thought but it would seem if it were a problem Nick (or whoever runs this place) would have already spoken up on the matter.

But my attention isn't easily held at two forums, and TNL wins if I get stretched thin and have to choose.

Bahn has been TNL's PR guy for a while now, and Nick has been running everything. I don't really know much past that, but I'm guessing Bahn wants to be in charge of his own place now and get a fresh start. This board will be fine, just like it was fine when Neomega began to steal traffic.

You can post that stuff wherever I'm not at.

stomy: Pointed noted, I apologize. Not all threads are going to be moved there, but that tends to happen. (It occurred with Gamego, and it continued with Neomega). I am not preventing anyone here from posting there, and that goes for the type of discussion boards they make. So if that includes you among the community there, great -- we'll be happy to receive you. Just make sure to tip Dacaz on the way in. ;)


It is a bit over-the-top, I will admit that.

Dacaz......man thats a name i havnt heard in a loooong time. theres somebody else, i cant remember his name but he didnt post that long around here but was also at GameGo. had a 16-but related name......damn me for not remembering.

i pretty much agree with you on this one except in my view it's up to the board itself and the rest of the posters to make sure the trolls dont abound. the only reason we have so many here is because they're "popular" and in a way have their own little fan clubs. sure the ban stick works wonders but you gotta fix the problem first, and as it stands there's too many folks who sometimes love the useless posts and egg them on.

It's a cool concept, and i like the design of the forums right now (although it looks like a template...) and I hope you can design the entire Got-Next.com site like the forums (streamlined and clean). If you guys have stuff TNL doesn't, then I will join. Not that most will lose sleep over me not joining a new forum. Good luck though Bahn and Reno, I hope starting this site will bring back the ambition for gaming journalism TNL once brought you (before all the politics I'm guessing).

For gaming news and articles, how will it differ from TNL? Despite me razzing on AFX, he does a good job with his shit, and I like TNLs staff.
