Yes the megadrive was the Japanese Genesis.
And I've never heard of that game.
Ragnacenty did see a US release by Atlus on the Genesis, under the name Crusader of Centy. Wasn't well known upon it's release, though, and I assume is difficult to find today. I'd like a copy of it myself, in fact.
It came out in the US via Atlus, and was called Crusader of Centy. Closest thing the Genesis had to a blatant Zelda III clone.
who cares if its a clone, it looks really effin good.Quote:

I never said it was good or bad. You're inferring things.
It was rare from day one. A very low print run if I remember correctly. I'll keep my eyes open for some. I ain't selling mine. :)Quote:

It is a little similar to Zelda 3. The visual style was ripped off. But there are more than enough unique gameplay features to make it more than a Zelda clone.
i know, its just some people will discount a game simply because its too similar to another. i know thats probly not what you meant though, didnt mean any offense.Quote:

its really rare though huh ?
damn. i already sold a kidney to get Prikura Daisakusen.
i'm running out of organs.
Don't go into it expecting the genesis equivalent of zelda and you're all set. Its a quickie, if you spend at least 8 hours or so, you can finish it.
eric: Ah, cool.
And I hear uh... I hear you don't need a spleen to live. FWIW.
Crusader of Centy is quite good. I borrowed it off someone back when it came out but now I wish I had bought my own copy.
Yes, it was known as Ragnacenty in Japan and came out over here as Crusader of Centy by Atlus, and wasn't produced in especially high numbers.
I still play the game from time to time even today! Its reasonably long and was faster-paced and more action packed than Zelda 3, which in some ways, actually made it a superior game. I remember it getting glowing reviews, especially from Ultra Gameplayers and Gamefan back in the day. :)
And no, my copy isn't available either. :p
Here's a scan for y'all...

I got lucky, I got my copy three years ago from Funcoland for the grand total of $7, great condition too.
It's a solid game, it's not as good as Zelda: A Link to the Past but it's a nice rpg for the Genesis, a system that wasn't known for it's rpg's.
If you can find a copy buy it, it plays well on the Nomad too.
Well, for domestically released adventure/RPGs, I think they were both relatively equal.Quote:

Anyways, Crusader of Centy would have to be on of my favorite Genesis games. Nicely polished with a catchy soundtrack from Iwadare.
The European version is called Soleil and supposedly, there's some large discrepancies between that version and the American one.

What a great fucking game! Simply put, if you love your action/rpgs then you will love this game. Hunt it down by all means.
little update.
just got back from Funcoland, went to buy Valkyrie Profile, was about to check out and glanced at the rack of ill-fated used gene carts.. and what do i see in the second row burried half under some shit generic sports title ? Crusaders of Centy.
i nearly shit myself. just got done playing about an hour straight,
what a great game. well worth the 15 $
I remember asking for it as a birthday present way back then. The idea of being able to talk to animals really appealed to me as a kid. The European release was called Soleil.
