i remember right before i graduated my professor showed up his portfolio. for the life of me i cant remember if he used an Adobe product or not to make it. it seemed very power point like in the way it worked, but it was pretty graphic intensive and also had a song playing while you looked through it. anybody know what programs and steps can be taken to do something like this?
He probably used Flash.
It was a powerpoint presentation. I had a friend do one with music for his wedding.
im thinking diff is right. the more i think about it i think he used a couple different programs but the hole thing was eventually run in flash. how hard is to to get a grasp of flash enough to do something like that? or powerpoint as well (ive never looked at either). i figure PP is laughably easy since a lot of chicks could put presentations together for reports.
Powerpoint is simple.
Flash takes a bit of coding and knowing how to animate and time frames.
It's easy to make a Powerpoint presentation.
But it's really, really hard to make a Powerpoint presentation look good. Its like the whole thing is designed to churn out boring, flat, ugly, useless board meeting presentations.
I hate hate hate Powerpoint! Every single day I have to watch the worst PP presentations in all my business classes. All of my professors, except one who made fantastic presentations with Apple's Keynote, were no better and always had the generic templates with ugly ass fonts on mismatched colors. bleggh
motion graphics is probably what you'd want to look in to. I can do a little bit, I learnt how to do simple things like light reveals and swoop ins, etc.
Flash can do all of it, and all of it well.
well i took 2 animation classes so i know how to basic animate, keyframes......that kind of stuff. i actually have the program, just never fired it up to look at it. so does powerpoint suck because its almost impossible to make stuff look good, or is it more since its so easy to use anybody without an art/design sense can churn out ugly shit?
