The designer figure thread

Lately I have gotten very entranced with the whole underground/ designer toy scene. There's been a bit of a rennaissance taking place within it lately and there's been a constant outpouring of fantastic, innovative works and designs. Designer figs, when done right, are some of the coolest art concievable... Unfortunately, a lot are priced accordingly, so I haven't really bought much, just a few of the randomly-packed capsule figures. Even those small forays, though, have already become some of my favorites in my figure collection. If I'm ever able to more easily drop some large coin on frivolities, I'd have to say snagging some great designer figs will be first priority.

These types of toys have really inspired me, I've been sketching some potential designs of my own almost every opportunity I get... I'll scan some brainstorms here or in the art forum if I ever clean 'em up, or, saints willing, they ever get made.

I'm not huge in to toys. The only action figures that I have are the Bender and Fry (Futurama) toys. I do not know who most of those figures represent, but they look cool and I really enjoy the character design to them.

Cool... or 'tight' in todays lingo.

A little more mainstream, but I've been getting a kick out of the Stickfas / Xevoz "custom" figure lines. Cool, simple designs and huge amounts of articulation.

Cool stuff, I'm not too familiar with that stuff myself though... if you by chance happen to come across a cool looking werewolf figure though Bacon McShig please let me know :)

Yah, I like the Stikfas too... They sorta started out like this, really, but caught on by netting the interest of big retailers like TRU.

Werewolf, you're as predictable as ever. But I can't really recall seing anything, which is kinda odd considering how much is out there.

Since you might know... there was a small line of figures that came out in Japan last year that seemed to be pretty popular. There were three Japanese girls, and each could interchange parts like their heads, arms, etc. The figures had a look rather along the lines of the pics that you posted. I know, that's very vague, but you might know what I'm talking about.

There were a number of Junko Mizuno figures that I really wanted to pick up while I was in Japan.

Umm... Brockmanns, maybe? I'm not sure, but I'll be on the lookout for something fitting that description.

I'm pretty sure both of the sites I posted have almost all the Mizuno figs available, pretty reasonably priced at ~$45.

Try as you might, you'll never find an action figure cooler than this.

Yah I guess I have kind of a one track mind ;)... but if you do ever see one please let me know :D
