Has anyone else caught this one? It is about a group of young zealots who attend a Baptist high school and has a heavy satiric edge to it. It stars Mandy Moore, Macaulay Culkin, and several other young actors.
I saw it earlier tonight, and it turned out really funny. It manages to really stick it to completely insane Jesus freaks yet manages to remain relatively hopeful in terms of religion. Has a great cast too, what do you guys think?
saw it last night, i missed like the first 10 minutes, but it was well done. I heard some bad ratings on it but i was entertained, so it wins in my book. The story was good, the jokes were good, and the cast did a good job.

Brilliantly funny movie. It did get sappy here and there and near the end was both harsh and farcically over done but overall it was really good. Culkin had the best role in the film and he played it beautifully. Malone was wonderful and that kid from Almost Famous was great too. The characters were believable for the most part, though they did go far too far with some. It was a great farce in a time where farce is far too uncommon, the cast was perfect in every way. I love this movie!
My girlfriend went and saw it after practically counting down the days till the release, she said it was great. I might go see it.
I went and saw it today, and all I can say is it was amazing. Wonderful movie. I would seriously give it a 9.8/10.
Culkin put on a wonderful performance in this, and his characters gave some of the best lines (the pipe bomb line comes to mind). I also thought Cassandra (played by Susan Surrandine's daughter) was really hot.

Very funny movie!
I think Mandy Moore put in a career changing performance. She made me forget that she was Mandy Moore, teeny pop star, and really got me to hate her (in the role, I mean). She has proven to me at least that she has some natural talent in acting, unlike some of the other pop singers out there.
Macaulay Culkin was also great. I hope he gets more screentime because of this movie.
Eva Amurri (Cassandra in the movie) was hot. It was funny, cause I didn't think so at the beginning. But as the movie went on, she got hotter and hotter. Oh, and her character was too cool as well. ;)
The "hip" minister was great, and there were a lot of quotable one-liners.
The satire could have gone further, but like other movies that make fun of hot topics (Undercover Brother is another one) it took a safer more PG-13 level of bite. But it still worked, and was quite funny. And I think the heart of the movie was summed up by Jena Malone's character towards the end. It's not verbatim, but the line was "Why would Jesus make us all so different if he wanted us to all be the same?" From reading that line, you can really tell what this movie was about. And it's a good message.
