Sweet, about the PSX emu stuff.
I heard a while ago that Sony was going to replace the PS2's 32-bit RISC chipset (used for playing PSX games) with on-board emulation. I guess that's not true, since I figured that to be the source of the price-drop. PSX emulation on PS2 wouldn't be very good at all, anyway. The Xbox hardware is much more suited for the job.
How easy is the Xbox to program for, anyway? Is it compatible with a Windows operating system like Dreamcast? If so, I hope to see lots of unofficial ports appearing on the thing. Raiden Fighters Jet and Tokimeki Memorial (in English), please!!!

I use 4 controller ports every other day because I actually have friends. I know that may be hard for you to understand, dog$.

I think it's pretty obvious that four-player games are non-existant because of the need for a multitap and not the other way around. I don't know if Sony does this because they think they're going to make some big killing on multitaps or because they're just stupid, but they're effectively handing their competitors the multiplayer market. You will never see a game like GoldenEye, Halo, Melee or Monkey Ball be a hit on the PS2 because of the limitations of the hardware.
Personally, I think consoles should just have one controller port and have controllers that daisy-chain into each other like GBA link cables or 3DO controllers.
Anyway, I got the vibe from Johnny's original post that the PS2 needs to stand on its when connected to the HDD. If that's true, I think that's yet another nail in its coffin.

Ooh, daisy chain, great idea! Like the Sidewinders on the PC. Why haven't any console people ever thought of that?
