Now let's all come together and whine about "mainstream" gamers, and possibly get into an argument afterwards about what impact different markets have, etc etc.
But the important thing that most will do here is reaffirm their hardcore status, at least among the board.
I hate Golden Week too. Slow news days suck.
You sure do a lot of whining about other people's whining, dogmoney.
If only I didn't have a reason to do so...
Ya...who are you complaining about dog$? Who's whining...the execs? :pQuote:

I find it funny how the article leaves out any reason for executives thinking there will be substantial growth, yet at the end of the article they mention the rapid growth of development and marketing costs, as well as online gaming, which is far from a sure bet, profit-wise. And I'm not suprised the execs didn't predict the industry would crash, or decline. Thats why they should ask the developers, not the executives. People like Miyamoto can get away with telling it like it is, as made evident by Miyamoto's remarks about the need for the industry to get back to the basics in order to prevent a crash.
Please tell me there's a pie chart or a graph! PLEEEAAASE!!! *yawn*

Should we be suprised that execs from the video game industry predict growth in thier industry? Are they supposed to say anything BUT that?
They have to say things are on the up and up to please shareholders.
I personally think there will be continued growth. But not a huge surge. And games will continue to be dumbed down even further.
And pinball machines will make a come back. :)
In other news, I told the bank I'll be making tons of money this year to pay off my student loan.
Movers and shakers in the food industry think people will keep on buying food over the next several years.
