Gamer Girls: A Plus?

Don't look for a "gamer girl" who wears Mega Man tees, plays fighting games, does DDR or falls into some preconceived notion of gamergirliness.

Just look for someone who respects you and your interests.

The last "geeky" girl I dated turned out to be something of a psycho, unfortunately, this took a while for her to show it. When I broke it off she refused to speak to me. After she left for college, I had to speak through a friend to get my stuff back. That was kind of shitty.

Moral of the story: when someone says Legend of Mana is a good game, get away from them as fast as possible, they are probably insane.

My wife likes the occasional game, usually something simple like Dr Mario, Monkeyball, or Animal Crossing. But recently she expressed interest in learning to play Madden...:eek::wtf::):D


I didn't marry her beacuse she plays games but because she will actually tolerate me. And seems to enjoy doing so. The fact that she can beat me at SNES Mario Kart is just extra.

If she likes games that means less time for you to play, now a girl who enjoys watching you play games is a whole other story... I like to keep the joystick in my hands.

My gf still plays NES. Mario, Zelda, Adventure Island and a bunch of others. She will play some semi current games also like IQ, Puzzle Fighter, and Worms. I'm pretty fortunate that she digs my hobby but I don't think I want an avid girl gamer for a gf, that was so middle school.

Exactly. All the girls I normally hang out with are normal people, that have interests outside video games, like dancing, art and whatnot, but all of them still play their 64, cube and/or PS2. It's hot.
