Agree. I still think that Shanghai Noon is Chen's best US film. Or at least most entertaining one. Both comedy and action worked very well, unlike the sequel which was overly long, and most of the comedy bits felt forced.
Dolemite, I wish we could do the same to Tucker. I am glad that he doesnt appear in any of films lately. He was always one-tone annoying fuck :p
Noon was hilarious. The part with Wilson doing a showdown with that guy was amazing.
Sheriff: "Why don't you turn and face me like a man?"
Wilson: "Look, you do this your way, I'll do it my way."
The best part was in his head, though.
"You can do this Roy.
No you can't, oh my god you're going to die."
The thing that makes Jackie's movies more entertaining than any other martial arts superstars is that he makes himself incredibly vulnerable in his choreography and through that he is forced to use the enviroment to his advantage. That and the fact that he did some of the craziest stunts this world has ever seen. I like Jet but he'll never be as good as Jackie in my mind. They have different styles but we are comparing martial arts movie to martial arts movie and Jackie Chan's stuff is priceless, no one but Jackie could bring what he does to the screen. What Jet Li does I've seen in countless Martial Arts competitions and as for the wire stuff... I won't even go there. I like Donnie Yen better personally.
I also find the Big Brawl better than any of Chan's new US entries, at least in that one he was alone. They are entertainning but they are hardly what he offers in the hk market.

Insomniac Mania & AJackieFeast.Com reports that fans in the UK and Singapore have heard rumblings on the radio, and from Jackie Chan himself on UK TV, that Rush Hour 3 has been postponed indefinitely!
One source heard a radio report in Singapore on June 21st that Jackie will not be doing any Hollywood movies for the next 3 years. The news report said the "reason" was because Jackie's co-star in the previous "Rush Hours", Chris Tucker, has injured himself.
The report also said that Jackie will now concentrate his efforts on the Hong Kong film industry. Another also heard Jackie the next day (June 22nd) on BBC TV talk about his next movie, "The Myth / Legend" and also, again, state the consequence of "Rush Hour 3" and its postponement.
I saw the last fight in Who am I yesterday. Oh my god.

Love the bit where Jackie uses the first guy's jacket to pinion his arms and get in a few hits, and the other guy who's waiting for his turn gets all worried and removes his jacket, then the whole thing repeats again with Jackie using they first guy's tie against him and the second guy removes his.Quote:

So many damn good Jackie films. Like I said earlier, make sure to read his book, it gives you a whole new appreciation for that man.
