Sega Genesis Repair Question...
I have an old model 2 Genesis. The other day, The Screen Savers had a special on overclocking that model Genesis (No slowdown in two-player Sonic 2! :O ). This inspired me to not only give that a shot, but to also try fixing the power switch on the console. See, for the longest damn time, this thing won't stay on unless the switch is being pushed down. When in the normal, pushed "on" position, it just doesn't stay on.
What I wanted to do is desolder the switch from the board (a co-worker of mine reccomended just using a hot soldering iron to loosen the switch, pull it off, and replace it. Before I did that, lo and behold, the switch on the board seems to have five pins soldered in! I don't believe Radio Shack has a SPST push-button switch like that...
Has anyone else done anything similar to this and could help me out? I'd love to get this thing working...
