Really? Seems a lot longer than that to me.

So wait a second, you can't go back through it to find stuff you missed once you beat it? That's ballstastic. I'm still gunna get it, looks fuggin awesome.
I beat the DLC and it was OK. The setting was cool, but the story was a bit stale. Too much running and gunning. The sqaud idea was kind of neat and the invisible ninja dudes but over all it was a little too meh and short for ten dollars. Still looking forward to the rest of the content though.
Not finished, but I like it so far. Focusing on stealth and not having to worry about loot is pretty cool, though I'm playing a character who doesn't use guns, and unlike the main game, there's enemies placed in high locations you can't reach. Some are even out of grenade range. Bit annoying.
Fuck my 360.
I've been loving this game to death and just today my 360 put a deep scratch on the outside of my game. Now I can't play beyond an hour before it freezes and becomes unreadable, and usually only 10-20 minutes.
Fuck fuck fuck. To Blockbuster? ;)
I went to Target today with a gift card fully hoping to get a 1600 pt card for the sole reason of getting O:A.
They were sold out. Good news is my mom works there early in the morning and may be able to fanagle a little discount on the pts cards and then I'll be able to play this.
Is there really a sword? I mean, I'll spend $20 regardless for a sword that isn't a flaming invention I already have.
It's a shock sword.
Okay, this has been bugging me or a while - can somebody explain to me exactly what's going on with hacking in this game?
For instance, I choose two words:
DEPENDING - 2/9 correct
DETERRENT - 4/9 correct
How is this possible when they have three letters in common? (D, E, N) Or is it just based upon the position within the word?
Position.
It's right letters in the right position.
The hacking game sucks balls.
It's fun, but straining to see glowing letters hurts my eyes after a while.
get a bigger tv
i can read it just fine on my 67inch :P
Finished Operation Anchorage the other night, really enjoyed it and I got the general to kill himself, which was pretty cool, but I missed 1 piece of intel so I'm gunna have to redo it to get the Covert Ops perk or whatever it is. Overall I thought it was totally worth the money, I LOVE the stealth camo and shock sword, and I really enjoy the Gauze rifle.
I downloaded The Pitt and it's WAY better than Anchorage. It has a Thunderdome feel (WHO RUN THE PITT) and it's gritty and interesting. Auto-axe kicks ass. Good job on this one.
Just got a points card and going to download this after lunch.
I love the Gauss rifle from Anchorage, but I'm also loving the Auto-Axe and Infiltrator so far. Can't wait for the last bit of DLC so I can finish the game and take the extra shit back into the wasteland. This game rocks face and The Pitt is exceptional, I agree with everything AG said.
The Pitt is awesome, but I'm blowing through it entirely too quickly! I want this goodness to last some more. :(
How long is it? Is it a Pittsburgh simulator?
Hay, the new DLC is up. Level cap is increased to 30 and Bethesda has blessed us with some of the worst Fallout perks of all time:
Lv. 22:
Deep Sleep - Get the well rested bonus in any bed
Puppies! - new Dogmeat everytime he dies
Quantum Chemist - Every 10 Nuka colas you acquire are automatically converted into a Quantum
Lv. 24
Devils Highway - Karma is instantly set to Very Evil
Escalator to Heaven - Karma to Very Good
Karmic Rebalance - Karma to Neutral
No Weakness - All SPECIAL stats less than 5 become 5
Lv. 26
Nerves of steel - Faster AP regen
Rad tolerance - no effects from minor rad poisoning
Warmonger - All custom weapon schematics added to your inventory
Lv. 28
Party Boy - No alcohol withdrawal
Rad Absorption - Rad level decreases automatically over time
Lv. 30
Almost Perfect - All SPECIAL stats become 9 (Not sure if this will lower your 10's?)
Nuclear Anamoly - At 20 HP or less you explode and do insane damage to everything around you, including your allies
The Quantum Chemist perk is kinda neat. I love my Nuka Grenades.
But otherwise, meh.
Jesus, those are complete crap.
Eh, they aren't that bad. To be honest I'm kind of glad only some are worth taking, as I could never get everything I wanted from the base set.
22 - Quantum Chemist (time to start hoarding regular Nukas instead of selling them) and Puppies for my good character (my evil one killed Dogmeat for a second humanoid cohort... my good one would have too, but he got Dogmeat first so the glitch won't work)
24 - lol these are all awful
26 - Nerves of Steel (could be pretty great depending on how big the increase is)
28 - Rad Absorption, maybe. I'll definitely read up on how quickly it works first.
30 - Almost Perfect. This is the one universal no-brainer on the list, like Bloody Mess and Mysterious Stranger in the base set. Nuclear Anomaly sounds fun for the lulz, but, uh, aren't you still dead? Earlier than you otherwise would be, even?
They're horrible. Half of them are more cheat code than gameplay tweak. Almost Perfect, in particular, is a disaster. It throws most interesting character builds out the window since ANYONE can get 10s in all stats, without spending a single point in Intensive Training. ..provided that you actually AVOID all stat bobbleheads until you hit 30.
Well one of them will actually let me use dog meat instead of making him stay in Megaton all the time.
Also, if I wanted to instantly go to very evil I wouldn't waste a perk on it, I would go around and murder everyone.
I like the Warmonger one since I didn't find all the scematics and that will give me an achievement when I make them all, and Nerves of Steel sounds nice too.
Also my good character has 0 bobble heads so I need to go find those. The new content I've come across so far is very fun though, I just finished the Pitt and started rumaging around the wasteland again. Where do you get the new quests?
Upon further review, Party Boy looks pretty good. Although it's much less useful as a high-level perk.
I never drank enough in the game to get addicted. Now psycho and med-x would be a different story.
Buffout for me, love that shit.
They either hired someone else to voice Three Dog for the new audio, or they (literally) had the original guy phone it in. Either way, it's distracting. It also would have been nice if they had added a few new songs.
On the plus side, it's nice to be earning experience again. Off to The Pitt.
Has anyone completed the new Broken Steele quest line yet? I did the first quest and started the second quest in Old Olney.
How do you end up controlling the Deathclaws? I controlled the one in the camp outside Old Olney just by walking up to it, but once inside the base your optional objective is to use them to your advantage but every one I encounter attacks me, and even at level 23 those fuckers are raping me. Any advice besides maning up and not complaining?
Also finding main quests that I missed the first time around is a lot of fun with all the new shit I have.
I had the same problem with them attacking, but they weren't a threat now. I just FAWKEd them up!
I think it was only Deathclaws controlled by Enclave officers because they wear a collar or some shit. The wild ones in Old Olney were just angry.
A friend of mine and I did that thing where I logged into his live account, downloaded The Pitt with his points, and then shared the wealth. So I have the Pitt now as well.
Museum of History.
I'm enjoying the new stuff. I want Fawks so bad but I am never going to be good so fuck him. You can find mini-nukes on those new big ass mutants so now I have quite the collection to fuck shit up with. Also, the metal laser from The Pitt download is a wrecking machine.
Two new expansions announced: Point Lookout and Mothership Zeta. The latter brings aliens to Washington. Apparently, Nancy Pelosi is not alone.
This could actually be quite interesting if they do it right.Quote:

Aliens make everything better. STFU.
Yes, I'd welcome a zombie expansion to Fallout 3. Tits too. And hockey.
How do ghouls not count as fucking zombies?
I don't mind aliens coming, it means more incredibly fucking awesome alien guns that blast the shit out of everything.
I played my balls out evil character last night for a bit and got bored with her. There's not that much of a difference besides just murdering everything. I got to GNR and just shot Three Dog in the face. Now I don't have GNR to listen to. It's sort of.. meh.
Oh, shut up with this no fast zombies and not really undead. Walking, decayed, want to tear you apart. Zombies.
Squall is a literalist, you'd be wise to not even bother arguing with him.
It's retarded.
It's not the same. Although, given that Night of the Living Dead played on Cold War era tensions of nuclear annihilation, I can at least see how the general concept would have some place in the Fallout universe.
But not aliens. Awesome as the concept might be, it just doesn't fit.
If you're going for a 50s sci-fi world that exploded, aliens do fit.
I mean, it's why the fallout world is inherently amusing. It's a silly, happy retro-futurist world gone horribly, horribly wrong.
I mean come on, you're telling me that tree-people, crab people, orcs, giant ants and zombies (fuck you) are within the realms of possibility, but aliens man, no way, that's too silly.
Come on! Crab people!
Ghouls aren't zombies, but that's not why. A Zombie is not necessarily walking dead, it's a human body bereft of a soul. I'd count 28 days later zombies as zombies, but ghouls talk and feel and form camps. They want to kill you sometimes, but others have calmed down and live among people. Not zombies, just burnt up motherfuckers.
Feral ghouls. You assholes. Are you happy now?
Who made these zombie rules anyway? I'm sick of this debate. Was it Romero? That dude can jump off a bridge.
The feral ghouls aren't mentally different, they're just untamed. They're still human in the same sense any hostile primitive tribe is.
I was under the impression that their brains had decayed.
Romero made the zombie rules for his own movies. Other assholes chose to enforce them beyond that. Romero has always acknowledged that his concept of a zombie was different than what were called Zombies before.
I'm not citing Romero rules here, I'm going broader concept of Zombie. But I still say Ghouls are damaged humans. Mad, perhaps, but still thinking, feeling creatures.
God, even after watching a walkthrough I cannot find all the steel ignots. I fail.
I've got like 70, I do not expect to get many more.
It can be a bit of a pain if you picked some up before you decided to hunt them all down. That happened to me with a few, but I managed to find them all.
Is the ingot part of expansion?
i have tits in my fallout 3... what version are you guys playing? ;)
So im reading that the new expansion packs do not increase your level. :o
Past level 30, no.
That sucks. I'm about halfway through Broken Steel and already at level 26. In fact, I saved The Pitt until after Broken Steel came out just so I could get experience for my efforts. I hope they change their mind and at least take us to 40.
Probably won't happen, but it would be nice.
I LOVE SEMANTICS
My brother in law just picked up the Broken Steel and Pitt expansions and for the life of us can't figure out how to access the content. Any help?
Broken Steel you have to beat the last story mission and it starts afterward. The Pitt opens up after you walk around in the Wastelands for awhile you will pick up some radio transmissions that lead you to the dude that has access to The Pitt.
So i am gonna start playing this, but i really dont want to miss those missable quests/achievements. Which are they so i can keep an eye on them?
I think the only one you can jack up is getting all the bobbleheads. Don't blow up Megaton until you find the one in that town and make sure you get the one at Raven Rock before you level that place.
New DLC is out. Anybody spring for it?
Yeah, did the first quest and so far so good. Point Lookout is MUCH more open-ended than Pitt or Anchorage, there's a lot of ground to cover and places to explore for, and the main landmarks look really nice.
And you get to kill mutant hillbillies!
I've finished the main quests, but there's a ton of area to explore. I found it well worth the points.
I really want it, and I have the points for it... but I'm gonna wait a couple more days just to be sure that it isn't broken first.
Aren't they releasing all the DLC on one retail disc?
They're releasing it all over your mom's face.
It's just Operation Anchorage and The Pitt. Operation Anchorage is available for download at 580 points, so the disc package is actually more expensive.
http://www.wiispace.com/2009/05/fall...disc-released/
I really want to try the new content, but I'm short on points atm so it will have to wait and I haven't even completed Broken Steele yet. Any other selling points besides what's already been mentioned? I don't mean spoilers or anything, just stuff that jumped out as really cool or new.
Some of the side quests (there are a bunch) are really cool. The Chinese agent one was particularly interesting.
New DLC is awesome, atmosphere is amazing and new hillbilly gear is funny. I'm addicted to Moonshine. :(
I'm trying to finish up the last quest of Broken Steele and don't know where I'm supposed to go and just fell off the mobile platform and died. Is the spot where I'm supposed to launch an orbital strike on or in the actual platform? I would think I wouldn't want to be on it when I used that.
Yeah, you have to set the strike and then leave. There will be a helicopter on the top to take you to safety before it blows. For fun though, set the strike first for the Citadel for cool Brotherhood reactions!
Crap, I figured it out and saved over the progress since, I totally should have done what you said. SHIT!!!!
Yay Tesla Cannon though.
Really liking Point Lookout, as with all the others so worth the points.
