Gonna get XBOX live for this game. The online multiplayer makes it a worthy purchase by itself. I remember the N64 version, I always used to play the war multiplayer game, I still play it with freinds. The only thing that I'm dissapointed about in the new version is the one player. Just the N64's story and layout with improved graphics. I like the N64's story, but It woul'dve been better IMO if they made a new story or a direct continuation from the originals story.
What do you think?
I think this game doesn't get release until 2Q 2005. Too far off for me to think about.
I'm not really a fan of the $49.99 tag it is carrying right now. $39.99 would even be a little better (ie Twin Snakes).
I never played the original game, so... well it doesnt matter if its just the same game with better graphics.
Besides... have you SEEN the new graphics. Theyre incredible. We're talking about a difference on the magnitute of RE PSX -> RE GC. Or better.

Yes I've seen it. I played it at E3. But I don't think it's better looking than REmake.
Conker still looks good today. The original RE looks way worse than the original conker.

Your right there Rumpy. The character models (conker especially) still look great. The way Conkers facial expressions changed was brilliant and his tail was very well animated too. Whereas the PSX Resi Evil character models faces where emotionless and the animation was a lot more wooden than Conkers Bad fur days models....Quote:

i can say the same about playstation games. running thru component on my ps2 most look horrific, now put them thru Epsxe (and UltraHLE/V64jr in the case of N64 games) and its a different story.Quote:

The online mode seems to be the most appealing aspects of Live and Uncut. Anyone who remembers the N64's original multiplayer war game, should know how good the online multiplayer will be. The characters move a hell of a lot quicker and strafing is faster and not as slow as the N64's original..
I think REmake graphics >>>>>>>>>>>>> Conker from what I've seen. Nothing can touch the art, atmosphere, and overall appeal as far as I'm concerned. Conker looks good, no doubt, and is probably more technically impressive. But art and style will always be more impressive to me than technology.
Controls for Multiplayer look a hell of a lot smoother. Rare have always been good at making multiplayer games, just look at Perfect Dark as a prime example. I just hope the offline multiplayer matches that of the N64 original with some new modes maybe, meaning that the offline XBOX user doesn't miss out....
I just want a new Blast Corps.

I think that the general public didn't give a rats ass about the original and that it really dosen't matter if it's a remake in this case. I barely played the original and now it's so damn ugly that I wouldn't even consider giving it the time of day. So this is a good thing.Quote:

This game is pretty much the reason behind me getting an Xbox and will be the main reason for me to have Live. The original Conker was an amzing game with a pretty good single player and really interesting and fun as hell multi player games. Honestly, the N64 Conker graphics don't bother me, since its for the gameplay that I like a game. Anyways, I just now saw the E3 trailer and my jaw just hit the floor. I knew the game looked really good, but I never knew how intense and different the main multiplayer was. It looks like Unreal Tournament 2004 but on crack with squirles and mech tediz. This is my most anticipated game right now, even surpasing RE4. Now I'm gonna back to watching the trailer over and over again.
The original Conker (single player) was crap. Trust me. I still remember how dissapointed I was as I made myself play through it in disbelief. Horrible camera, horrible controls, uninspired tedious objectives...the only good thing about it was the multiplayer. It was so good that it made it all worth it. That's why the remake will be worth it, but the main game was bad back in the day and it's just gonna be sad nowadays. Rare = gimp. Anyhow the graphics on the new one, they look pretty good but not great, not with that slow ass 15-20 fps action going on. Rare's 60 fps games ended when they left the GC for the XBox, at least until the next round of consoles come around. Conker doesn't look anywhere near as good as StarFox Adventures. Conker looks like they took StarFox Adventures, cut the framerate to 1/3rd, traded sharp clean textures for mush, and cut the fur count in half.
Why are you bitching about the framerate? The game still has a good 4-5 months of development time to go. A lot of games run choppy in the alpha/beta stage.
I have no clue what the hell you are talking about. You must be on crack. All the trailers I have seen of this has smoothe as a baby bottoms fps. I have not seen any sliver of slowdowm and where you got that beats me. Second, maybe you didn't like the single player, but I along with many others sure as hell did. Was the game revolutionary? Hell no, but it was still fun to play. This game looks like it is going to be amazing. The Live stuff looks badass, the single player is great since it is the first game with a ton better graphics. The only thing that would dissapoint me is if they didn't include the original multiplayer games as well, but even then, the revamped multiplayer would make up for it all.Quote:

More then the sum of it's parts. That's how I'd settle on Conker for the N64. I enjoyed it thoroughly. The graphics and sound were absolutely astounding at the time. It was like playing a cartoon.
The only reason I refuse to get too hyped up about it is Rare's delay, delay, delay policy.
We're nearing the 10-year mark of console 3D games (I say console because they're generally the ones that need better cameras since most PC games have the camera mapped to the mouse or it's already locked in first-person/directly overhead) and the fact that you can say that shows that for all the pretty graphical additions we've made since then one of the most basic design functions is still being largely ignored for improvement. We need someone to do to cameras what Havok has done for physics.Quote:

I honestly don't remember if the camer in Conker's was good or not, all I really remember was most of the game being hysterical and the gameplay being a long line of annoying crap that sucked. With any luck they're tweaking the gameplay as well as improving the graphics so when I play it I won't just keep wishing for it to have been a movie instead.
The camera was awful. I played a few levels the other day and it's just so irritating, the camera nevers stays where you put it. The camera system in this game got hardly any attention from the developers and it shows.
They play vids of it on G4, theres a vid of it at your local game store, there's videos online....the framerate is very very bad.....very bad. If you're seeing something as smooth as a baby's bottom, you must be looking at something else, maybe pre-rendered footage, but I assure you, this game has a bad framerate. They could still improve it before it's done but, come on, this is Rare and a CISC Celeron...I wouldn't expect it to get much better.Quote:

Again, I've seen plenty of trailers and footage of the game and have yet to see any slowdown. And even if there is the occasional slowdown, this game is still going to be amazing.Quote:

Jumping zebras on Clarinex, this game has some of the best graphics I've ever seen! The demo was of the war scene up until the eltrocution of one of the squirrels. The game was basically the same up until then, though. Few exceptions, those being an extra set of Tediz to kill before going in, Conker's pair of Uzis being replaced by one automatic rifle, and a couple of references that couldn't have been made in the original (because of the time it was made and the system it was on). I can't wait for this to come out. I'm sure we'll see it by the turn of the decade.

I got the OXM demo a few days ago and yes, the game looks sweet. I laughed my ass off when I started firing the machine gun because it just looked and sounded so cool. The poor squirrel in the electric chair fried for like a minute. I dont remember it lasting that long before. I really like the 64 game so I cant wait till Spring for this game.
