Sat down and had some serious play time with Hyper Fighting portion of the game and it is tight...looks much better than DC rev of ST. My friends and I were having fun finding the general quirks out about the different versions and how certain moves weren't working the same as they thought they would...and I expect world warrior versions to be banned at tourneys LOL, cause the dizzying is a little insane...
Didn't get to try 3S yet....

I'm not up to par on the whole on a stick, but going back to a pad feels wrong when I lose easy access to all my attacks. :( I'm kind of in a little limbo area right now.
Great stuff though.

Hmm, I don't think you have a competition stick. The stick in the RAS has micros that look like this:Quote:

Were you to just replace them you would have a non working stick (or a 4 way stick if you got it working).
Another thing is that the reason that the stick feels so "loose," or that the "throw" is really long, is due to the stick itself and the distance between the actuators and the micros.
I really cannot express how much you will want a competition stick for fighters in there, it is not just switching the micros that makes it. For a comparison go HERE and pretend like the RAS stock stick is a really, really, bad and loose super.
I have put a competition into a Universal RAS. I have put a Super Stick into both a PS2 and a Universal RAS. Both fit with out any modifications. I have tried to put a non Happs Super into a universal and it did not fit.
Also: the buttons need to be replaced. You will see a two fold improvement with your timing if you replace them. I recomend that you put competition buttons in, but even the standard Happs will be much better. The springs that are in the stock RAS buttons are very poor. You can keep the RAS micro and just get replacement buttons. They do not fit perfectly, but with a bit of minipulation they should go in no problem.
You're right, I have a Super. Hadn't actually looked at the name in forever.Quote:

I've read that before and I don't remember him saying such a big difference between Super and Competition, but I'm sure that's just me forgetting.Quote:

It really depends on what you like for sticks...our arcade, the mighty Playland, before it closed, had supers on its Marvel cabinet and it worked ok...the owner basically said that supers are better for longevity...
Ultimates are fine to me too...competition do feel the best American stick wise, but the best IMO is to go to a Jap style bat or ball top...I'm sure there is a way to top mount one in there....
BTW, my long handle Sanwa has leaf switches like the supers do, and I get really good response time from it.

There is, and I did a write up on that too. Never went through with it myself, but here is what someone else did with my instructions, so I know they work:Quote:

Thanks. You want to know the crazy part about that modded RAS? The guy did it with a drill and a steak knife. I shit you not. I laughed my ass off when I found that out.Quote:
