3s strategy guide by brady

A couple things I've noticed: you can hear Q breathing heavily (something I don't remember in the DC version), and it seems like the second and third round soundtrack mixes come in late (like 5 seconds into the round the music will change, instead of at the start of the round).
As for SF2, which is the original arcade music? You can choose CPS1, 2, and arrange. Arrange is the 3DO version, right? Was any SF other than 1 on the CPS1 board?
Everyone is talking about sticks. I got my first, some Hori Soul Calibur 2 sticks a while back. I couldnt' get used to them. I like the PS2 pad for GG and the Saturn pad for CvsSNK2 (can't wait for the Xbox version of 3S to come out so I can use the Saturn pad).

I noticed the delay in the music on Dudley's stage first, because "THIS IS A STUPID DOPE MIX." came in late and it was obscured by other sounds, and that made me sad.

As for the arrange, I couldn't tell you if it was from the 3DO version or if it's new for HSF2T, but the first 3 games are CPS1, and Super and ST are CPS2. I prefer the CPS1 instruments over CPS2, really.

Yeah, the problem is some of us started playing SF2 in the arcades and could never get used to the pad...

Like someone said, whatever you can win with, I guess.

I started with pads. I was too dumb as a kid to map fierce and roundhouse to the thumbpad, so I kept using the shoulders and soon developed claw pointer fingers. I think one of my main problems with a stick is finding someplace to set it comfortably. I don't have a table in my room, is that what everyone uses?

My lap. The pelican stick is a monster so it doesn't move a centimeter.

That's cool that the 3rd round remixes made it to this collection. I was afraid that because this version of 3S was being touted as "arcade perfect", that would include the soundtrack as well.

From what Green is saying, the music changes in the round instead of the music stopping and starting over between rounds like the DC version. I'm cool with this - I'm just glad that the remixes made it in the first place.

Well, it just seems like a continuous mix for the entire fight. No problems here.

1) I have a competition in mine and I seem to be better with it than the Sanwas I put in my DC Agetecs. It is really a preference. I would recomend that you get a competition in there asap. A sanwa is just if you want to mod it more "custom" or what ever.
2) There is no contradiction, he is just defining his preference. Basically the actuator being too close to the micro can result in the same problems as it being to far away. There have been a instances where I end up going a bit too far in a qcf or something while using a Super. Anyways, IMO supers belong no where near fighters. If you have to use a "cheaper" stick go with an ultimate, but they are both pretty bad for fighters. Supers are excelent for games where control can be a bit more "loose" (not a precises is a better term) like shmups or run-n-guns. I have supers in my vert shmup cab, and would not put comps in them. It is all preference.

It is pretty much that simple. You have to remove the stick from the RAS (just 4 nuts and bolts) and cut the wires to the micros (make sure to label them). Then put the new stick in and either use quick connects or solder the wires back on to the micros. I can do it in about 20 - 30 min.

I am wondering something...what company...releases special fighting pads for a game.....a WEEK AFTER the game is released...seriously...WTF!.
Anyhoo its good to hear the 3rd round remixes are in there.i think thats why i havn't picked up the ST yet.
And i have one major prob with every joystick i have ever bought.they are all Square Guards...everysingle one of them...i and can't get the feel or a small square guard.Octogon..hell yeah...or a nice sized Circle.but not that square shit.Does anyoe know any good sticks with the lovely Octo guard or the orgasmic circle??

interesting I may have to get a competition stick then

and some one was saying to just replace the buttons not the actual whole set up for the buttons
