Thank you. I can't stand Yoshi either, but I'm not spazzing out like a little girl over it. Pepsi, your posts are just as fucking annoying, but much longer than theirs.Quote:

It is not an exaggeration that the counters in DoA do way too much damage. A factual list comparing the number of competitive characters in two fighting games is also not an exaggeration. Your statement is baseless--why don't you just tell me that you only want people to tell you how good your opinions are, how valid they are, and how much they hold up to any argument or criticism. That would at least make sense.Quote:

I am getting a headache from this thread. It's just dumb to compare a 2d fighter versus a 3d one--they play totally different and comparing number of fighters is just ridiculous.
Based on fighter count Tobal 2 (one of my faves) would be the greatest fighter ever with 100+ playable characters albeit many are generic. I would put up VF4's paltry 15 character roster over any game out there.
Also I play Jin in MvC2 . :p

The best comment this thread. I still can't like the game for the flaws though, i mean, atleast makes kick slower than punches dammit. In DOA3, you didn't even need to use the puch button, I had 15 straight wins against someone who had the damn game with random button mashing using only kicks.Quote:

Besides..21 good characters out of 56? That makes for 35 characters that are absolutely worthless. Yeah that is great balance I do believe. And how exactly does having a good assist make a good character? I think the most basic point to get anywhere in a fighting game is to learn and master all of a character's moves. What if you lose your "point" character? Now you're stuck with some guy you halfassed on and can not even stand up in competitive play.
Also let's see. Tecmo for some odd reason doesn't have the ability to re-use all of their sprites and are basically forced to create characters from the ground up. Granted you will say they are just remaking DoA 2 but then again they are added fixes, moves, and general balance issues are being addresses. That is about 100% more work than what Capcom put into MvC2(Which is what? Slapping characters in MUGEN style?). Hell I don't even particularly care for the Marvel cast..maybe I'll use Tron Bonne, Ryu, and Jill..Ooops WRONG! I can't because they are obviously shit characters and I would get laughed out of every tournament on earth.
Also let's see the actual character list. The only non-marvel characters listed are Strider, Ken, Cammy, Captain Commando, Sakura, and Ruby Heart..and Strider is the only one that's apparently a point character. Ruby Heart is the only original character in there, Ken and Sakura are usually strong in any fighter, and all of the fighters sans Ruby Heart and Cable are redumps from MvSF, MvX, and MvC. Hell the same could be said for the Marvel side too.
So 21 characters..19 of which have been in six other fighting games and..and..wow..suddenly 13 characters in DoA:U sounds like a shitload...Hell it almost sounds like too many. I won't even go into the whole ordeal about how well-balanced the DoA cast actually is and all 13 characters can stand on their own ground with no problems at all..and how the only tier in the game is based on the skill of the player.
Not to mention that 3D Fighters typically have a much lower number of characters than 2D ones(Sans Tekken Tag Tournament and Soul Calibur 2 but they are just as guilty of re-using characters and character movesets as anyone else)
Oh and if you have a problem with the 40% counters...DON'T LET YOUR DUMBASS FALL INTO THEM...Goddamn. Throws beat Counters and if you're just randomly button-mashing of course you'll get countered.
EDIT: This thread has already gone to hell anyway. So where's my ban?
Whoops, read before you post...
