I never played the first but GW2 might be my favorite vertical scrolling shmup ever. This is great news indeed. Hope it's the same music guy.

Both NCSX and Play-Asia are currently accepting preorders. I just got mine in a couple minutes ago.
I'm crossing my fingers for XS to publish this here. Well, any publisher, I don't care as long as they keep tate mode in.
If they kept Tate mode in Castle Shikigami 2, I bet they'd leave GWG intact if they got a hold of it.Quote:

I got my copy of GWG for the PS2 this Friday. I hate to piss in the punch bowl, but there is NO TATE in this. This means you end up with a 360 x 480 play area in the center of the screen, down from 480x640- a bit ghetto if you ask me, as you lose some of the arcade's detail. What's the deal, Taito?
The load times are a little annoying. You will wait a half-minute to get to the title screen. Between levels, it's about 15 seconds.
On the bright side- Forget what you heard about the arcade version being choppy in places. GWG PS2 runs smooth, but you will get a little slowdown in the spots where the arcade version would suffer from the jerks.
The difficulty is about a bit short of the first GW. With full defaults I've been able to hit stage 5 on the first credit after having the game for only a day.
So Steve, there's actually no framerate issue with the PS2 disc (as some are saying)?
Those load times are terrible though.
There's no framerate issue because it runs at 30FPS, unlike the arcade version which was 60FPS. I haven't bought it myself, but I've read up on it and haven't heard anything good about it.
There are huge frame rate problems with this game, Its struggles to display 30 frames per second properly.
Here comes Kron with his secondhand misinformation (or have you played it since stating incorrectly that it was cropped?).
