The rest of the world is retarded when it comes to money

yesterday I made an order for about 51.00 worth of used manga from japan, from the site jpqueen.com Great place to find used saturn games, manga, gay jpop shit, ect. After shipping it was going to cost me 79.00. When I was checking out I was to find shock of all shocks, they no longer took paypal.

They had three new payment options, 2 of which were claimed to be just as good as paypal. So ok, I'll took them at their word and chekced out.

Well when it came time to pay, I was confronted with some of the most retarded, assbackwards way of paying for anything. The first one, wanted me to mail in a money order to put funds in my acount to pay them. -_- that is right folks, they wanted me to mail them money, so they can give it to someone else. The second one, had the most around the world way of doing credit cards I've ever seen. To pay with a credit card you have to print out a credit card form, fill it out and mail it to them. In this world of high technology, they want me to mail them my credit card info. What a great idea, mailing my credit card info out, so not only will everyone at the company get to look at my credit card number, if the mail gets lost, some lucky guy will get a free credit card account with money he will never have to pay back. ISN'T THAT SO AWESOME!?!?!


Yeah, like anyone with a brain would, I emailed jpqueen asking to cancel my order. I explained to them that I was not comfortable using the options they gave me. I hope they don't get all bitchy with me.

Yeah, I was sad when J-List stopped using Paypal too. I wonder if there is some reason goods from Japan can't be paid with using Paypal?

I'm reading through the site FAQ and the third payment option makes some sense. I may try it with a smaller order if they will let me.

Maybe seven force or shidoshi could enlighten us as to why the japanese hate paypal.

EDIT: they may also be able to explain why they hate the simple "OMG TYPE IN THE CRED CARD #"

The reason Paypal isn't as accepted as it used to be is because it's not as good as it used to be. It doesn't have the accountability of a bank, it doesn't have the trustworthiness of a bank (which is a seperate diatribe), and it's just not a safe company to deal with in the long run for a business who'd use it for dozens of transactions a day. Paypal is a great idea being run badly, and the company that comes along and does it right should make a mint.

Agreed, there's no reason at all not to take credit cards. It does seem kind of pointless to have stuff available for sale and then not enable people to buy it by any rational plan.

Well I just got an email back about canceling my order. They did so with out penalty and apologized for the trouble. Apparently paypal cancled their account with them.

I will probably try a much smaller order later and use the third paymen option. It's still screwed up becaue I have to pay someone to pay them, but I think they at least take credit cards with out me having to mail in forms.

Anyone want me to get one of those cheap saturn games for them?
