A Winner is You! This Saturday 2-6 (replay on Monday) at Short Hills it is. They said they expect at least 1000 fans to show up, they've even arranged for overflow parking. Hooty-ass, busy mall around X-MAS and drunk, belligerent, stinky homeless people - it's always fun.
I hope several expensive pairs of shoes are vomited upon.
I also hope the rich, snooty assholes learn a lesson. They probably won't, though.
Well, the mall is preparing for it, but there's not much they are going to be able to do when a 1000+ people roll in there at once. Should be great.
Fucking unbelievable. Freedom of speech in this country is finished.
O&A are in some shit again, in danger of being fired because a homeless guy said on their show that he wanted to have sex with Condeleeza Rice. On the XM side of the show, too. Fucking unbelievable.
And Yoshi asked how can this country get any more pussified? Here's his answer.
Basically, the reason behind it is that it involved making fun of a politician, and XM and Sirius are trying to merge, and they're so terrified of offending anyone of influence because it might jeopardize their stupid merger (that probably won't go through anyway). CBS said they basically don't give a shit about the comments and aren't doing anything, but XM's panties are in a bunch.
And it wasn't even something they said. It was a crazy homeless guy. Who incidentally was talking about "robbing old white bitches" 5 minutes prior, and somehow that's less offensive.
According to the Daily News article, it was something that they said.
It's still bullshit, and it wasn't even done during the Free FM broadcast, so it doesn't violate any FCC "decency" rules. As long as O&A don't appear on Sharpton's show, they'll be fine.Quote:
The graphic sequence on their XM Satellite Radio program showed that even in a medium with no restrictions on content, Opie and Anthony found a way to cross the line.
The actual comments were made by a guest the shock jocks call Homeless Charlie. As each woman's name came up, he said, "I'd love to f--- that b----."
They laughed as they imagined "the horror" in Rice's face and what it would be like to hold her down and punch her in the face.
They did play it with a few words bleeped the next day on the FreeFM side, but it's not an FCC thing even then. It's just the fact that they made light of an influencial politician.
I was STEAMED today about this. Fucking Moral Fascists. It's a PAY service, why don't we all bitch about the violence on HBO now? There's warnings every hour, the channel is marked XL for content, and you CHOOSE to have the service. I bet not one of these spineless media fucks would have heard the show were it not for the pirated clip of it they keep passing around.
The thing is, this was started by conservative bloggers stating that the liberal media doesn't care about the story because Condi is Republican. There were 11 Google news reports about it this morning. By 3:00 p.m., we have 240 news blips (most are copied word for word and outright innaccurate) from Fox to CNN International. You were saying assholes?
Goddamn do I hate the media. I did notice even a few of the Stern-bots who constantly berate O&A taking a stand against this - they realize they're next. One of the stories mentions Bubba and another blogger ends his rant with "you're next Howard." Lookout, it's the moral police!
If XM even THINKS of suspending/punishing them in any way, I'll be cancelling my 4 subscriptions.
