the puddle of aids stuff this morning almost made me crash, I was laughing so hard.
It was funny to listen to, particularly the way they set him up to call his bluff, but I have no desire to actually watch that.
It's not that bad to watch, the smell would be horrific. It's actually great to see Opie be on the other side of the fence for once.
Opie said the other day he decided he wanted to do radio again, and it shows.
He has been on fire lately, best part of the show for the past few weeks.
Since I got stuck with my GF's car this morning (with XM) in LA rush hour I decided to give Opie and Anthony a try again. I don't think I've heard more than 60 seconds since their old days on WAAF in Boston. I guess I wasn't in time to catch them on the west coast so I listened to Ron and Fez.
It wasn't a bad show, but it sounds like Car Talk on NPR, except they don't talk about cars, and one dude is gay. They have a really weird flow to their show, where one topic leads into another constantly, and then you think about the topic 2 topics ago, and you would have no clue how it could be related to the current one if you didn't hear what they said in between. It reminded me of the way the skits on Mr. Show were organized, which always annoyed me.
It's probably not something I'd go out of my way to listen to.
Ron and Fez is a really weird show, I've never been able to get into it. Ron is great when he makes quick appearances on O&A though, he can be really funny.
The Ron and Fez show isn't really on right now. It's the Ron and Friends show. Fez had a meltdown after his heart attack and now he's on so many meds he either barely talks, says bullshit nothing, or starts crying spontaneously in the middle of the show.
Ron Bennington is one of the funniest people in radio, and Fez used to be really good at setting Ronnie up and they worked well together, but the show is just kind of a mess right now.
Fez used to write storylines for the show (like wrestling storylines) that were really funny if you listened regularly, but he doesn't really do much besides make everyone feel uncomfortable now.
And East Side Dave needs to be checked into a mental institution.
Again, how is east side dave a real person? Do ron and fez pay him any money? That man is desperate to the point of I'm wondering if he's going to commit suicide for a gag.
