Yeah dude, fuck that guy.
Grandia's boss pwned me. I didn't level up enough and I don't have enough resources to go back.
It cheapens the accomplishment of beating the game.Quote:

You can be cruising along, dealing 80 HP of damage per round, then he casts Healall and sets you back to square 1. Did I mention I rarely had more than half my MP by the time I got there? Even at maxed-out-levels (50, 45, 35, respectively), he still gave me problems sometimes because of fucking Healall.
Oh horseshit. It's like scaling the difficulty on a fighter or shooter. Some people do that just to make it through; how is his suggestion different?Quote:

it wasn't just the speed of the battles themselves, it was the huge load time before every stupid fight. ok there's the music! and the background! *waits for the camera to slowly rotate around the battlefield* oh good, the enemies! etc etc.Quote:

There is NO WAY SoA was faster at anything except putting me to sleep during battles.Quote:

his suggestion, if I understand correctly, is that the user can manually change the difficulty setting in game. You can't see how that cheapens it?Quote:

It doesn't cheapen anyone's fucking accomplishment. You beat it on hard, giving you your videogame gratification that you can beat hard games, I'm clapping for you. People who think a game is too hard and become frustrated do not finish the game period, so they're getting 0 gratification. If you mean that it ruins your gratification that someone else beat the same game you did without having to be a button pressing prodigy, well, then it's just you who are wrong.
while we're at it, lets have an extra lives button and a kill everything on screen trigger.
Anyone here beaten Legend of the Dragoon? if so, either you had characters with freakishly high levels, or you'll agree with me that it's final boss isn't that hard, it just takes forever to beat. I fought it for well over four hours, then it killed me on the final stage. This commenced the "controller durability test."
I beat it the next time, but it still took another four hours.
I can't even remember how many stages it has. something around 6-8.
you're also kinda screwed if you need more supplies, since you can't go back.
