Today's the Anniversary of that Crazy Blackout

Last year on tomorrow's date, a third of the country went black. Remember that? That was nuts. Of course, I still had to work. In the dark. The damn thing also ruined a game of Wario World for me.
Anyways, at work today, m'new manager mentioned the significance of tomorrow and said that it could always happen again, 'cause they never fixed the grid. I sure as hell hope he's damn wrong and that they've been TRYING to do something about it. Who 'they' is, I'm not sure, but I hope they have. Kinda scared me, though. That fiasco was not a fun one. Though, he may've just said that to make us push those stupid fucking Blackout Buddy things.
Anyone heard news on progress?

I am in the northeast and for some reason our house actually had power when all this insanity was occuring. So we sat and watched the news with the fan going and laughed at everyone else.

Yep..most of CT was uneffected just those rich bastards that want to be part of new york anyways. :)

I was at work and there was a brownout for about 2 seconds, then nothing, then the power came after a second.

I was in Rockafeller Center when that happened.

I had to walk home fearing that either the apocolypse had come or I was gunna be mugged.

I was in NYC when the shit went down, and I found the chaos rather exciting. Especialy the mass exoduss of people leaving the subways and the fact that I saw the star in NYC that night.

I was best man at a wedding that weekend. The food was almost ruined when the freezer went down, but fortunately they managed to save it. Pretty weird experience though.

Happy blackout day everybody! I was gonna go loot but didn't feel like it.

I spent the blackout days cleaning the PC out (dust and such) and listening to an ever-dying radio on batteries for updates on the situation.

I was in Florida on vacation. We flew over New York about six hours before the blackout hit.

i was bored out of my fucking mind, sitting and listening to the radio like everyone else. managed to play tons of CFC on the NGPC with a flashlight propped up on my pillow and over my shoulder before going to sleep. sucked there was no electricity, but it was interesting nonetheless.
