Over in the northern part of Florida we've only gotten a bit of rain and a very pleasant change in temperature. We mostly worry about flooding where we live (on a little island) and I mainly worry about losing electricity. We had to go over a week without power during the last two big hurricanes.
Glad to see everyone came out unscathed. I saw the news this morning and was scared.
Is this why I've been having nice weather this week?

Meh, Im in Gainesville - and we got a little bit of rain and wind from it - nothing to harsh.
I think the press blows *heh* a lot of these hurricane landings way out of proportion to build newsworthy stories.Sure you'll have an occasional Andrew and yeah - you live on the beach expect a surge, whoops live in a home with wheels? better get the fuck out- but besides that <shrugs> I've lived through more hurricanes than I can count on my fingers and have only had to go to shelter for maybe two of those - Now tornadoes thats a whole other ballgame if you ask me...
This wasnt the first and probably wont be the last hurricane that I sit back, crack open a beer, and watch TV during.
There's another one coming for the weekend =/
This one's a category 4 and still out at sea, from what I hear D=
yeah, that one is a monster. Last I heard the projected path was right through central FL.
