True, but I tried Spriggan on it recently and I had audio problems with syscard3.pce yet the MagicSystem driver played it perfectly. It can't be the only one, I bet there are some other games where ME's drivers work better.Quote:

my duo is starting to show its age and i don't want to spend $200 on a replacement, so i'm patiently waiting for the next version of ME that will allow me to play with CD audio under XP. then i'll be happy.
I bought Cosmic Fantasy 2 from WD and Exile 2 from Ebay. CF2 works great (though no sound), but Exile 2 only shows some initial text then returns to a black screen. Does the game not work with Magic Engine or do I have a bad disc?
Nevermind, figured it out, installed the real system card rom and it works just fine.
New version of Magic Engine is coming in mid-November. It'll have digital sound for XP users like me. Hopefully it'll clean up a few of the bugs (like the Dracula X color bug in one of the stages with Richter being totally blue).
Magic Engine is the only PCE emu worth it's salt, but it is very, very good. Probably why he can get away with charging for it.
I haven't played very hard core, and I won't until the new Magic Engine comes out. I just wanted to make sure the games played. I got Wicked Phenomenon for $20 on Ebay, but the seller didn't guarantee it worked. Happy to learn it works just fine.
As has already been pointed out, the sound effects work on the games, but the CD audio doesn't play at all. It's not fun watching cinemas without sound.
