Sorry for calling you a fucking idiot.......Im just annoyed when people think that Sony is evil , and it intends to kill off gaming and all . Most people dont know that large businesses like sony and MS base their desicions upon market research not upon what is good or evil.
heres something to rememeber....unless i type it i dont mean it. i never said SONY was evil or said that their actions affected me in any way. i just worked at a game store for 5 years during high school and i tend to know what the gemeral masses think or do....sometimes i still tend to think i work there. good thing i dont cause i wouldve had greay hair or a bad ticker by now :)
I agree with you there :) I worked at EB for maybe a year while working a full time and another part time job at the same time. Working there made me appreciate people who know video games... which where few and far between ;)Quote:

OK. Here's the situation with the price drop.
Sony plans to drop price in reaction to their compeditors or lower sales only.
Microsoft plans to announce their price drop at E3.
Info. about their price drop get's leaked to the press.
Sony reads articles.
Sony drops price.
Microsoft knows that they can't sit and do nothing so they drop he price too.
Sony was prepared to drop the price at any time, but it was Microsoft's actions that triggered them to drop the price. And yes, Microsoft planned the price drop first.
The good news is that we as consumers win out thanks to this since we get a better price on systems.
This can potentially be ranked as a dirty trick, but also as good business. In the end, I don't like how it makes Microsoft look, but there's no real way I can blame Sony either. In their shoes I'd be tempted to do the same thing.
For those of you that like the XBox and have the money though, the best thing you can do is to keep supporting it with your money. Though it has a smaller userbase, developers are noticing the game attachment rate for the system is very high for it's age. XBox gamers buy games and just like in the Japanese market, if you can release the right title it will sell.
That's why I haven't been worried about developers. In fact a few weeks ago Namco was praising the XBox and saying they were considering supporting it more.
So don't let this get you down. After all, E3 is only about a weeks time away and who knows what will happen then.

There is no delay between an announcement of a price drop and a price drop. When the price drop is announced, the price drops. It's all very simple.

dude...it was common knowledge on these boards 2 weeks ago that MS was planning on dropping the price on the 20th. MS ANNOUNCED it first but actually DID it 2nd.Quote:

No, there were rumors floating around for two weeks about Microsoft (and Sony, for that matter) dropping the price. They didn't say "We'll drop the price in two weeks!" Think about it for a minute. Do you really think they wanted to halt all Xbox sales for two weeks? 'Cause that's what would've happened. Microsoft didn't ANNOUNCE a price drop until YESTERDAY.Quote:

Now, wether Sony actually dropped their price in anticipation of Microsoft doing it, I'd say that's very likely. But to call them fuckers for doing it? Umm, sure. It's called business. They ain't playing a friendly game of checkers.
"Now play nice Sony, and give Microsoft a chance to catch up! Don't lower your price yet or I'll send you to your room."
