I can't believe MP2 is holding a reasonable challenge to this thread. Halo is much more popular than MP right?

You haven't been around TNL much. The opinions of TNL is the exact opposite as you will find everywhere else, logic or no logic.Quote:

MP2, no contest. Even if Kano on the Phone did trash me at it at E3. I'm about single-player, too, and I don't see much competition between these two games in that area.
I really don't see this.Quote:

Everything is sort of set in Prime; there isn't too much variety to what you have to do, or how you fight an enemy. The AI is bland, they only attack you in one way, and only have one weakness that you can exploit. The puzzles are great, but it's almost always the same thing everytime you play. While being linear isn't always a hindrance, it can be as far as replayability.
The action in Halo is just better, single player or no. I have fun killing these enemies. I've had to do some heavy-duty strategizing in order to get through some levels, especially on harder difficulties. Every time I play, I have a new (usually funny) story to tell; it's never the same experience. And, I don't know, I just get such a feeling of satisfaction once I take on an entire troop of enemies at once and surviving; something I can't say I've ever experienced playing Prime. Puzzles are non-existent, but when you've got a war to win, who needs puzzles?
I'd hardly say that it's no contest as to what's the better single player experience. Like I said earlier, I'm still playing Halo (multiplayer AND solo), while my desire to play Prime has waned long ago. One game has legs, the other doesn't. What does that say about your argument?
Doom 3... on PC... and I already can play it.
I voted Metroid Prime 2 with flying colors!
for the love of god, i have played Halo for hours(thanks to all the hype) and i still fail to see wha's so special about that game!
(wish i could have my money back :( )
Metroid. I have 0 interest in Halo.
I guess this is where I dig up the whole "Metroid isn't a FPS so why are you comparing it to Halo? Might as well ask what people are choosing between Mario Pinball and Madden 2005" thing.... but I know better than to open that can of worms. :chu:
From the list, definately Halo 2.
Metroid Prime 2, all the way. The first demanded my attention from start to finish, whereas the first Halo wore thin as soon as the whole 'play the same levels but in REVERSE OMG' thing started. Also, I don't have someone to play co-op with on a steady basis this time around, I had a roommate to play through the first with.
