For 20 bucks I will buy one, but only if asteroids comes home in its true vector graphics form.

Very cool indeed, but I am willing to bet they are the 2600 versions.
Adventure... oh the memories :)
You could pick up the original carts and a 2600 for that price. ToyMax also released an Activision 10in1 not too long ago with Pitfall, Atlantis, Spider Fighter, Crackpots, Boxing, Tennis, Freeway, Ice Hockey, River Raid and Grand Prix.

When I read the topic I thought you meant a REAL new console..... like to battle PS3, XB2 and whatever Nintendo does next. I was so excited.....
Bleh to this....
After Jaguar you still think Atari can compete?Quote:

They're better off remaining as arcade developers.
I would buy a 'Jaguar 2'....Quote:

What do you think the chances are of being able to do an RGB mod to this thing? I also wonder how hard it would be to hood a 2600 cartridge port up.
It's quite possible that 2600 technology isn't even being used.
As for a whole new system, no chance in hell. Infogrames doesn't turn out that many great games to start with, and none of the large technology companies would be stupid enough to back them. If any developer is going to step into the market, it will be Capcom.
Do you have an NUON DVD player yet? That's bacically the Jaguar 2 you want so badly. It was made by the same core of people that designed Jaguar.Quote:

Atari no longer exists as a company. Both Atari Games and Atari Corp. have been purchased and/or dismantled.
So technically this isn't an "Atari" console, just a Toymax console with Atari games on it.
I agree with E-thugg (dang! twice in one month!)
I must be on a consumer's high from the gamecube/xbox launch (got 'em both at launch week), because I really thought this meant a new jaguar and I actually considered getting a 3rd system for no good reason...ah well, no way I'm shelling out money for a re-formated 2600...
Atari Games is now Midway Games West.
This means no new Atari Games arcade titles thanks to Midway's quitting the arcade business. :( Sorry EThugg.
Just look how many changes of ownership this company has been through. Warner, Namco, Time Warner (again), and eventually Midway.
dam got my hopes up
Erm, earthshattering. You could buy that, or you could go here. Or get a greatest hits disc, and play those games without havng to hook anything up.
