Interesting...guess Smith decided to go back to his roots after the disaster of Jersey Girl. He did say Jay and SB were done too. Clerks is one of my favorite movies, I hope Kevin can make a satisfying follow up.

Awesome, awesome, awesome.

I'm glad he's going back to the characters who made his career. This has just become one of my most anticipated movies of next year, eclipsing Episode 3.

Wow, clerks is 10 years old. Doesn't seem like that long ago.

God, I hate Kevin Smith movies. Clerks was decent, Mallrats was shit, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back was shit, the parts of Dogma I saw were shit. Never saw Chasing Amy, but given Smith's pedigree I was left with no desire to.

It also makes me laugh that he finds some degree of sucess with his Jay and Silent Bob movies, then says he won't make any more because he wants to "branch out". The result of that: Jersey Girl, which from what I've heard was nothing but an unfunny, by-the-books, cliché-ridden "romantic comedy" which quickly bombed at the box office. The result of that: Smith runs right back to the characters he said he wasn't using anymore.

Oh, and the guy named his kid after a Batman cartoon character (albeit a cool one). Douche.

Harley is the shit. He owns a comic book store after all. And it's a hell of a lot better than naming her "apple". That woman should be slapped for that.

Chasing Amy is his best movie by far, i agree with your assesment of the rest of his catalog. I liked Mallrats back when it came out, but it doesn't hold up that well for me anymore. If you ever pass CA on cable though you might want to check it out.

I hope he at least changes the title of this movie, it's God awful (pun!). I don't have any interest in Smith anymore unless i see some positive comments about the movie from trusted sources.
