I've been getting into this show recently, watching the DVDs and I have to say that it is one of the best shows on TV. It is very well directed and acted. I'm really enjoying the characters and the adventures.
Who else is fans of this show? I looked around for an SG:1 official thread, but there is none. So here it is. :link:

I really like it, but have never seen too many episodes. I need to get the DVD sets and watch them through, I'm sure I'd love it all.
M is a huge fan of this.
At first I was like well I've seen a couple of episodes and it's ok I can see why people like it but I'm busy with other shows. Now after watching it properly and in some order, I can see EXACTLY why some people love this show. It's freaking awesome.
Totally surprised me.
I love it, best TV series still on the air. And if Atlantis works out I can see this becoming the next Star Trek. A SG-1 movie would be really cool once the series ends.
I've been watching the DVDs over the past couple of months. I'm up to the middle of season 5 right now. Before this I'd only seen maybe 75% of the series. It's not a show you can just jump into anywhere and fully enjoy. I was addicted to it the first 2 years on Showtime but I didn't get back into watching it until they made the jump to the Sci-fi channel (season 5, I think). Season 7 is due in October, right around when SFC will finish the first half of season 8. And I didn't like the way SFC was doing the season at first, showing the season in two halves with a 3 month stretch between them. But now I've come to like not having a huge wait between seasons.
This year has been good so far, not great though, Friday’s episode was the best this season if you ask me. And I'm kinda on the fence with Atlantis. There's a lot of potential for a great show there and I like the actors for the most part but I'm not a fan of the new bad guys, the Wraith. The Goa'uld have a lot more depth to them. But maybe they'll get around to explaining more about the Wraith and I end up liking them too, who knows.
I haven't watched any Atlantis yet. Is it on in Canada?
Atlantis should get much, much more interesting after this past week. Colm Meany guest starred, and I assume he'll be back. A new race was introduced, and, well, let's just say they'll be back. This coming Friday General Hammond will guest star. Watching SG-1's first season again is kinda like watching STTNG's first 2 seasons. Yeah, it's an ok show, but it was only OK. The last 5 seasons have kicked ass though. I'm really hoping Atlantis finds it's feet and voice and aan move forward the way SG-1 has.
I am a bit underwhelmed thus far with SG-1 this season. Hopefully it will kick into high gear once "The Trust" storyline moves into full throttle.
This is one of the best shows on tv, I haven't been to pleased with this season though, but hopefully it will turn around soon. Atlantis is okay, but I don't like the villians or the races they've met so far.
I'm highly enjoying season one of Stargate so far, so I guess I'm either easy to please or this show is just that great.
Although it does have a lot of filler episodes but they are pretty vital for character development and Stargate understanding.
Once I get to season 3, i might just have a favourite tv show.

Does Season 1 of SG:1 have story arcs at all? It did a bit at the start but it's tapered off.
