It's all a matter of culture and it's starting to get into the white population. The media gives people an image to live by and they get all into it, becoming a slave. It doesn't matter what color they are, nobody should be acting like a "thug". A lot of black people seem to feel that it's their obligation to be like that and it's just wrong. It's unproductive and gives their race a bad name to a lot of people.
It may be just a stupid people thing. Most of our african american students did do the gettho thing (except for a few who usally went on to be in the top rank of the class and get 60,000 AA scholorships, but that is another story entirely). But the crazzy thing was, a lot of the redneck stupid kids did the same shit too. A lot of the white kids, despite looking like they were ready to pick corn, would cruise around to hard core rap. Every school dance related function had a mix of country slow dance songs, and hard core rap. Looking back, I think everyone was insane.

I went to see hellboy with my brother in law and there was this big group of black kids there. They were just openly walking around, talking, laughing and doing whatever the hell they wanted, despite the warnings from the staff. Grant it, some of them in the group told the others to shut up they'll kick them out. But when the theater worker came down and told them to be quiet the girls just blew him off. Haha eventually the mall security came in and kicked the loud ones out.Quote:

African Americans died fighting horrible stereotypes, and a chance at freedom. Their ancestors seem to be doing everything to not be their own person, and popularize the same horrible stereotypes their great great grandparents tried to fight against. Normal people are just fucked up.
My best friend from HS was called an 'uncle tom' just because she prefered to have proper diction when talking, and was very well-read.
Personally, I think trying to define what makes someone 'black' or 'white' is intolerably stupid. People are people. Deal with it.
