I'm a big Sakuraba fan. I found him a little hit or miss when working with PSOne hardware but his current gen, SNES, and redbook stuff was always fantastic. Iwadare is still a great composer though, so I dunno how I feel about the switch.
Also, there is no way that SO3 is Sakuraba's weakest soundtrack. He's seriously done over 70 games (as well as like 10 TV series). He's probably the most prolific composer in the industry, and he's had a few misses.
