Edit:Brock just did something I never.....I jsut cant explain it....hes getting a rectal search from one of the pirates, and then after they deny him a cigarette, he clamps down with his buttcheeks and beats the other guy with the pirate stuck in his ass

God, the thing that Gymkata just described was truly pricless stuff.
And the kicker was at the end of the[I can't help it:)] 'ass' beating, Brook retrives the cig that the(now dead) pirate denined him and said,
"I'd told ya I'd kill for one of this."

I completly reeled when I saw that.
Tonites show seemed to take a stab at melodrama, because of the somewhat seriously played beinging, with a flashback of Benton's father and his band of comrades morning the failed reentry attempt of a now forgotten team member. So the first half(which, honestly, was kind of slow) worked as a set up. But like always, shit hit the fan toward the ending, and the veiwers are treated to moments like Gymkata had mentioned.
If these gush ridden posts didn't give you enough of a hint, I'm really, really, in love with this show.
No doubt I'll catch the rebroadcast tonight.
I've liked all the Venture Bros eps so far, even the pilot one. I always thought it had potential.
Tonight's ep with the ghost was fucking great, I can't beleive they got away with some of that shit. The way Brock just owned everything was awesome.
As for Pat as Brock, his execution is flawless. I love his non-chalant yet badass when angered personality.
I'm just happy it's on the air. They aired the pilot while I was in a 4am, post New Years daze and they had me from:
Dean: Ma' Venture didn't raise no fools!
Hank: ... Dean? ... We don't have a mom.
Followed by a good few seconds of silence with them staring at their feet. That was awesome and so has been every episode since.
I agree with RyChus, slow start but it was worth the set up.
I honestly didn't see the butt clamp coming. I thought it was funny they actually went through with checking, but when clamped down, I'll be damned if that wasn't one of the most creative and funniest things I have ever seen. Who thinks up something like that?
Other funny moments:
The pirate is using a walkie talkie with hearts on it "A Toys R Us ship came by a few years ago."
"Yo-ho ho, did you find that guy yet?" and then when he checks back later. "Yo-ho ho. Yo-ho ho? Answer me!"
Brock beats the hell out of the ghost knock his head off and the pirate goes, "Well we could have done that." And Brock punches him.
The wife is talking to the ghost and she tells him to stop, so his yells start getting softer. Then his partner comes on and is like "it's time to move on now, your wife has, she married me." And he starts screaming again.
The Necromancer said something funny...but I can't remember what it was.
Brock teaching Hank how to choke people out. "Grab the handle, push the button." Hank repeats it, but does it to himself. "Let go of your own throat Hank."

What he said. When I saw the pilot I thought this show was going to be dumb as hell, I don't think I laughed once durig the whole thing. But now I'm liking it, Brock definately makes the show for me although without everyone else it certainly wouldn't be as good.Quote:

I loved that whole Fantastic Four parody, and I was shocked to find out Race actually being there. The way he died off was fucking hilarious. The Thing, Human Torch parody characters were great like Thing being a complete fucking retard and the flame dude just freaking the fuck out.
Richard was good too as the pretentious scientific asshole.
It cannot be said enough how much Brock owns(Polar bear).
