By the way, I want to see YAWA's input in this thread (before dave is ok turns it into a YFO/NYFO thread... dude youve been owned, just go away), since he is fond of saying all politicians are sleazy and corrupt.
Perhaps, but only because their own country sucked so bad they had to become smart to leave it. Also a lot of that is probably opinionated, thinking their culture is smarter and/or makes more sense.Quote:

of course, the point of this thread is not to discuss whether politicians are corrupt and sleazy. An educated Massachusetts elite like yourself should realize that without too much trouble. The point of this thread is to say, where does this conception come from, and what do we do with it in the face of James Madison's writings, which say that a corrupt government will arise from nothing more than a corrupt populace, and no government could save that populace.Quote:

Some might say that one big problem with our government is the fact that it is almost entirely run by a bunch of lawyers. How just can something be that is run by people that their former job was to shift the law back and forth to achieve a goal, regardless if said goal is moral? What is your opinion on that?Quote:

They think this way because they went to school to be taught to think this way, and to perform well in a system based on laws.
