It is Sherman's fault. He's the whole reason for the lack of talent. Sherman sadly over-estimates talent as a GM (probably a fault created by him being so close to the players as a coach). Given that he has dealt with so much lately (his father, brother-in-law and wife) I wouldn't be surprised if he steps back to enjoy what he has. He has always said he wanted to be around for his daughter's high-school years and she is now a Sophmore and going to school in Mississippi. Favre's coming back. I've said that he'd retire this year if a) the Pack didn't come close to the SB or b) if they won it. I think they came close enough.
I think he should hang it up. He can only do so much.
Only if he wants to spend time with his family (which I'm sure is the ONLY reason he's considering it). He's far too competitive to quit when he realizes that he's never going to have this chance again.
