The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion

I think after all this is time this is still the only next gen title I'm genuinely interested in.

edit, and yeah its small, its going to be released next week with the rest of the shots but this was released early now for the fans.

This is looking like one of two or three games that could save the 360 at launch. MS better pray it's there to counter PD0 disappointment.

God damn, I can't wait for this. I wish I had something constructive to add...

Same here. Screw a new console, I'm going to drop that money into upgrading my PC. Last time I upgraded was for Morrowind so that seems about right.

I think that sounds like a plan. I honestly don't spend enough time gaming anymore to run out and drop a grand+ on new consoles, accessories and games. I'm gonna start putting away cash, and whatever the recommended specs for Oblivion are will end up being my new laptop, technology and funds permitting.

EDIT: This is, of course, assuming that the projected August 1st release date is complete fantasy.

it is unquestionably fantasy, expect november or december at the earliest, it will not ship on august first, i give my word as someone who doesnt actuualy work for them of have any news whatsoever on the release date, the hype would have picked up long ago if aug 1 was even a possibility.

For those with Insider access, IGN is supposedly doing a live feed on Oblivion/Bethesda @ 5PM EST on Weds. Just FYI.

Gamespot just put the trailer up. One word:

That narrator sounds an awful lot like Patrick Stewart. They also have a Q&A up with one of the designers, but it's pretty worthless and doesn't say much that hasn't already been said.

One question - did Microsoft get the exclusive console rights for this? Because it's not mentioned as a PS3 title on any list I've seen.
